Not the strongest Canadian team, but by no means the weakest.

It is what it is. I’m not sure you can expect to win a tournament like this with Binnington as your starter. Could the really stacked Canada teams do it? Even those teams had Brodeur, Luongo, Price. The closest comparable would probably be if Jose Theodore was the starting goalie for Canada in 2002 or 2010 because Brodeur and Luongo didn’t wanna play or were injured. Fleury would have played in 2010 if those two didn’t, but my point still stands.

But it ain’t over yet. They can still win this in the championship game.

I’d have to think we see Oettinger or Swayman in for Monday’s game, as well as maybe a regular or two rested as the game has no real consequence.

Difference was in goal. It would be a different result otherwise
