Machinehead
HFNYR MVP
For what? Every guy you mentioned as hurting their stock is going to the Olympics.
Fallers :Harley.
Stone has always been a slow skater, as you know.I think Marchand has shown that his days of playing best on best are over.
He and Stone both looked too slow out there.
I'm not sure what to think about Reinhart.Good:
Brady
Sanderson
Slavin
Binnington
Marner
Bad:
Stone
Reinhart
Jarvis
Konecny
Jack Hughes
From prior posts you'd think it was called the 2 nations tournament
Hey... people paid to watch him play.I was shocked how bad Jack Hughes looked
Good list. I think Harley and Slavin did much to help their reputations. I think Brad Marchand looked old. Where was Jack Hughes?Based on this tournament.
Raised:
Brady Tkachuk - The premier power forward in the game, now everyone knows.
Mitch Marner - A very big game at a big time. That’s big for his narrative.
Jordan Binnington - He may let in the odd softie, but he’s Mr. Clutch for the rest of his life.
Zack Werenski - Not a lot of people watch Columbus. But they should to see him play.
Hurt:
Auston Matthews - I thought he coasted through the first 3 games, and while he got some chances tonight when he got paired with Brady, he once again couldn’t score in the big moment.
Jack Hughes - Looked like a junior player out there.
Devon Toews - He was okay with Makar, bad without. May have played himself off the Olympic team.
Mark Stone - Still a great NHLer, but couldn’t keep up with the pace of best on best.
Adam Fox - He’s good?
Werenski was arguably the worst defensive defenseman for the US. Turnovers, poor breakouts. It’s a matter of if your prefer primary and secondary assists or burying your team in your own end. Certainly hurt any Norris talk he might’ve had pre-tournament for those that don’t regularly watch him play.Based on this tournament.

Which is incredibly sad as this is who he is every night for Carolina. Absolute elite all-around D, far superior defensively than the perennial Norris favourites like Hughes/Fox/etc. Unfortunately the lazy media give that award to the likes of Erik Karlsson.Slavin earned himself a bunch of Norris votes in games that technically don't count towards voting.
