Canada can produce star players like Celibrini and Bedard and McKenna soon, but this is not enough. There is no real excuse to not being able to produce good goaltenders anymore. Finland has a smaller population than te Province of Quebec, and are producing very, very good players and goalies.

So if the NHL is going to shut down for a couple of weeks every other February for the foreseeable future, is there any discussion about starting the season two weeks earlier? It seems nuts to have the ultra compressed schedule like this season happening every other year.

They talked about this on one of broadcasts last week. The players refused to start the season earlier so the compressed schedule will stay.

I'm comparing the rosters side by side. Isolating to hellebyuck vs binnginton alone does not help Canada's case either.

But 2nd goalies can help. When cujo was struggling in 2002, Canada had the luxury to turn to brodeur, and they did.

Today, Canada can turn to Aiden hill.

You are comparing 2 rosters that won't be the Olympics rosters. The 4 Nations doesn't matter, it's a preparation tourney.
