I peeped the Tampa boards, they have been saying “cooper bringing same antics from Tampa , keeping Hagel with Cirelli and hurting hagel”.

I really don’t like cirelli as I just think Suzuki is better than him. Hagel maybe has another gear , more impact? Not sure. Hasn’t been great this tourney but skates so well. So does new hook though so I don’t know

For changes for the olympic, I'd like to see Suzuki with McKinnon and Crosby over Reinhart. Reinhart can move to the bottom 6. Would be nice if Bedard were also ready.
I also wonder if Stamkos wouldn't be a good trigger man for McDavid and Point.

Point - McDavid - Stamkos/Bedard
Suzuki - MacKinnon - Crosby
Celebrini - Scheifele - Stone
Reinhart - Bennett - Marner
Hagel, Konecny

Toews - Makar
Theodore - Pietrangelo
Morrissey - Parenkyo
Sanheim, Doughty

Logan Thompson
Aiden Hill

The play of the Finnish defense was terrible. Not only did half of them have problems defensively, but they couldn't even d
pass the puck, so the offense couldn't skate to 3:2, 4:2 etc. This was true of all lines, although the first had the advantage of Barkov being the center.

Point is good enough to be on this team, but even that is debatable. The other two are brutal because they are an anchor for the bottom six, but then you have some old timers on the ice too with Marchand and Stone, and Crosby has lost some speed too, but it's a lot of slow and no energy team.
I thought Point and McDavid were great Imagine Hyman with them who is a far far better skater than
Mark Stone. Lame Brain decision leaving him off the roster.

Man, so glad we brought Hagel & Cirelli to shut things down. :sarcasm:

Both have been really useless.

Binnington is a terrible goalie. Good grief, dude. Close the 5-hole!

Great play by Crosby to deck Granlund, take the puck & score into EN. Finland was definitely tying it.

Zero offense past McDavid, MacKinnon & Makar. Stone is too slow. Marchand is too old. Marner is too scared. Hagel & Cirelli are just bad.

Whoever assembled this team should never be allowed to do so again.

Not really. They coasted. It happens. Bad player assignment and MacK almost cost it with a selfish play.

It was a two-team tourney. Like the women.

I miss the Russians in there.

Russian roster (probably)

Kaprizov - Malkin - Barbashev
Ovechkin - Namestnikov - Kucherov
Panarin - Buchnevich - Svechnikov
Voronkov - Trenin - Marchenko
(Nichushkin doesn't play)

Gavrikov, Provorov
Orlov, Zub
Romanov, Sergachev

Vasilevskiy
Shesterkin
Sorokin

Offense - Dorofeyev, Tarasenko and Dadonov too. If centers, Svechkov and Khusnudtinov
Defense: Zadorov, Miromanov, Kulikov, Lyubushkin, Mintyukov, Zamula
Goalies: Kochetkov and Askarov too

I can't count players from KHL.

For changes for the olympic, I'd like to see Suzuki with McKinnon and Crosby over Reinhart. Reinhart can move to the 3rd line, centered by Scheifele, and on the wong is either Stone or Celebrini, depending on who plays with McDavid and Point:

Point - McDavid - Stamkos/Bedard
Suzuki - MacKinnon - Crosby
Celebrini - Scheifele - Stone
Reinhart - Bennett - Marner
Hagel, Konecny

Toews - Makar
Theodore - Pietrangelo

I wouldn’t mind seeing this as the forward group for the Olympics:

Hyman - McDavid - Point
Celebrini - MacKinnon - Bedard
Scheifele - Crosby - Suzuki
Reinhart - Bennett - Wilson
Hagel, Vilardi

Crosby is not a shoe in for the Olympics...he is still a good player but clearly he is showing his age.

I don’t think he’s a shoe in, but I think he’s still playing at a high enough level to be part of Canada’s top 12, although I don’t think he should be in the top 6 with McDavid or MacKinnon. He could end being a winger on the third line. I think they’ll want his leadership presence there as well.
