we have no scoring depth on a best on best tourney. we didn't score on our pp and we didn't look like the best team on the ice. we had the best player, probably 2 players, but the U.S. goalie and d played better.

Really would be nice when down a goal to be able to toss out some young talent instead of hagel/marchand type of guys. Marchand is done. great career and a hell of a player, but he looks like a slightly more talented gallagher on the ice.

This is why there is no point caring about tournaments. Always idiots picking the team.

If Canada doesn’t win in regulation and Sweden does on Monday, it’s a US-Sweden final (or US-Finland if Finland wins in regulation).

You really think Sweden will beat USA in regulation? Only way it happens is if USA purposely throw the game out in order to not face Canada by choice in finals.

Sweden, Finland & Canada are all at 2 pts. To guarantee advancement, Canada needs to win in regulation against Finland.

Sweden needs to win in regulation as one of Canada or Finland is guaranteed 2 points, and both hold tie breaker, AND they need the Canada-Finland game to go to OT.

If Sweden goes to OT then the winner of Finland/Canada goes through regardless of how they win.

The US ate up our east/west game and we didn't adjust. Their D is stout and we needed a couple of ugly goals to hope to win. I figured it would take 3 goals to beat them and I wasn't wrong. The sad thing is I didn't think their offense was particularly threatening and we still lost.

How? Will they bench half their D? I doubt team USA purposely throw a game out in a 4 nations tournament. Professional players have too much pride. That’s like saying players would be in on losing intentionally for a tank. This is a platform to showcase for the Olympic.

we win monday and we're in. If we don't get it done in regulation against that finland line up then we deserve to go home. Honestly though, by bringing some "grit" and "grind" it's easier to match up against us. Also, Doughty has not played all year and they throw him out on the ice. I don't even know if he's top 6 if healthy all year.
