Alright alright... Ill go watch some Cobra Kai... Enjoy your Saturday nights everyone!
this is the perfect way to end Saturday night my friends see what happens after the events at the Sekai Taikai, and crack a Coors, see y'all MondayLet's all just cool off with a refreshing Coors Light
Marner was invisible most of this game and although Matthews didn't contribute much offensively, he made some good plays defensively and was pretty good in the face-off circle. The problem with both of them is what we've seen for many playoff games over the years with them in that when the intensity of games goes up, they get shutdown. This felt like a Leafs game 7, Canada got absolutely shutdown
Tbh this was the worst case scenario for Leafs fans. We lost, Marner was horrible and so was Matthews
0 positives
The US is a good team and if Canada wants to win everything needs to be working at 100%
Looking at the Canadian goal tending that's going to be a problem it would seem
I'm a New Zealander so I couldn't give a rats ass about either team, I just hope our boys stay healthy
It's fun watching a game and not caring about the result, it's also kind of funny watching the board go nuts and not be right in the middle of it![]()
Haven't been a fan of Team Canada since 2002. I was referring to the only hockey team I love - the Toronto Maple Leafs.
my reply was a bit hyperbolicSeems many people live and die for the playoffs. lol, just live in the moment.
It sure will be interesting to see how that plays out.IIHF rules at the Olympics. Won't be good for him tbh. This tournament would be perfect
Goaltending should be fine with letting in 2 goals, offense needed to step up in this one.Didn't think it was a stinker... we are playing against a well qualified opponent who isn't interested in rolling over. You want the win, go f***ing get it.
We outplayed them. Goaltending is the problem everyone thought it would be.
That first goal cannot go in. It changes the whole game. Rather than the US chasing the game they got a freebe to tie it.Goaltending should be fine with letting in 2 goals, offense needed to step up in this one.
I didn't like the goals against but we need more than one to win no matter what. That first goal cannot go in. It changes the whole game. Rather than the US chasing the game they got a freebe to tie it.
These games are all going to be low event. Giving up bad goals will be the difference.
Do not disagree though that the offence needs to be better. To many chances to put the puck in the crease were passed up.
You can't dismiss how a that game being tied changes the flow of play. The Americans would have to push more, open things up as the game progresses which gives our guys more chances. With the game tied, the US can lock it down and wait for the next questionnable goal against.I didn't like the goals against but we need more than one to win no matter what.
I think goaltending will be better next year. This year we didn't really know what we had so went with the obvious choices. Blackwood, Thompson and even Kuemper could be in the mix after having good seasons. Not the superstar in net we're used to but they are all guys who can make the saves you need them to. I doubt Marchand is back next year as well but that could be said about a few guys. Entire bottom 6 could be replaceable at this point tbh unless they have some big games on Monday and then the Championship game if Canada makes it.It sure will be interesting to see how that plays out.
Cirelli and Marchand are out for me for sure.
We still have that goaltending issue. Mind you, not having seen Hill, I guess we really don't know.
Thats true. You can't dismiss how a that game being tied changes the flow of play. The Americans would have to push more, open things up as the game progresses which gives our guys more chances. With the game tied, the US can lock it down and wait for the next questionnable goal against.
Game changer, as it were.
If Price was in net, 1 might have been enough... it has been in the past. But alas, that is no longer our reality.
And have those “big big names” been in teams that have only won 1 playoff round in the last 9 years???If some of you could ever stop the hyper focus on Leafs players you'd realize some big big names are also not showing very well with the physical game...
And have those “big big names” been in teams that have only won 1 playoff round in the last 9 years???
No team has ever been as insulting to their fans to try the same thing for 9 years. I guess that's what Leaf fans get for loyalty.
