I was underwhelmed with McDavid as well. Nice burst of speeds in the neutral zone, also scored a nice goal, but other than that completely invisible. This team sucks and it was clearly manufactured by a group of coaches with obvious bias for their own players. I mean Hagel, Cirelli, and Sanheim should be nowhere near a Canadian team.
McDavid was clearly our best player... no one else was going with him... like at all.

Not sure what people were watching. Our goalie gave up 2 goals on the first shot off the rush; The US hardly had anything outside that.

Canada had the puck way more, and generated more chances (not necessairly shots). Hele made some good stops, and some of our guys seemed to shit themselves when they got a chance...

So yeah, some guys need to be better. But the three guys you named were hardly the reason we lost... in fact I'd say Hagel was prob the second most noticable player in the first 2 periods.... which is not really a good thing.

Where was MacKinnon? Crosby? His big play was the turnover on the GWG.

the more hilarious part was that he was apparently net front which I found to be absolutely hilarious. dude avoids physicality like I avoid broccoli LMAO
His hands are incredible so I get that, but I think they should have used a better player in that situation. It’s team Canada not team Ontario.

Some of the takes in here are just brutal. We just witnessed a billion dollar roster put on a stinker and somehow the Toronto Maple Leafs are responsible. Are we that psychologically hurt as a fanbase?

It was always projection my friend, the more you know!

None of what you wrote magically makes it political, it's still a game dude.
Yeah, I'm sure there was nothing political in all that, while they also pushed flag day and patriotism prior to the game and CBC got big mad when Poilievre held a Canada First rally earlier today. I have a bridge to sell you.

Canada has no chemistry… Cooper’s doing a poor job IMO
Dunno if that is the coach, but the players are not reading off each other very well.
Guess it is up to him to find the right mix... hard with such limited prep time.
I still think we outplayed the US in this one... made some stupid decisions and missed some chances.

Was McDavid underwhelming or was it just that after he scored that goal, Team USA just really clamped down on him and took away time and space from him just like they did for the rest of Team Canada? After the US got the go ahead goal they really played some great defense and Team Canada couldn't find the answer when everytime they were attacking there was a bunch of US players in their faces and checking them off the puck.

This game could've went either way because the teams were evenly matched. Just so happened the US took advantage of one of the few mistakes that Team Canada made and the Canadians couldn't respond and breakthrough some great US defensive play.

Canada's offense lacked offense from dmen and really the wingers don't give off dangerous scoring vibes. I would have tweaked the roster before finalizing it.

Some of us arnt but I don't really blame the ones that are lol.

The fact the reigning Hart trophy winner was a ghost tonight seems to be a bigger story than anything Leafs related.

You won't sell me a bridge but I am sure you will get a lot of "likes" on your facebook post later tonight, so I guess you are the real winner after all!

I think you need to go with Adin Hill next game. Two games now Binnington has not looked good and let in bad goals, he was swimming all game.
