I'm not giving up on Fedotov yet, but he's not going to get 3 months to get on track. He'll get the back end of two back to backs next week, and after that, Kolosov might get a look if he plays well in LHV.

They looked good in the 1st period, then seemed to flatline in the 2nd, but should have been 2-2. Started slow in the 3rd, then got back to 5-4 before the breakaway ended the game.

Couts looked much better, so did Brink, the rest of the team seemed ready to come home.
Sanheim has been shaky so far, should be healthy, but not the same this year.

One thing that's noticeable, this team is faster, but right now they're a little disjointed, not surprising, because West Coast trip is the worst way to start the season. Just don't get the practice time to jell.

Michkov and Luchanko's worst game so far.

Luchanko was partially responsible for one goal against, and very responsible for another.
Michkov flew the zone way too early on the goal against his line and left a man totally open for a 3v2. And was not as dangerous in OZ as usual.

Tbh though the Laughton line, Couturier, Brink and York were the only net positives in the game overall I think.

4 games in and I dont think they have been the better 5v5 team in any of the 4.

He's a weird watch. Flashes of brilliance with his skating & offensive talent. But not as often as you'd like. He's sorta like the D version of Tippett in some ways lol.

I've definitely lowered my hope with him from T3 D/PP1 QB to probably just a 3rd pair D who can run PP1. If he's good at it especially w/Michkov that isn't brutal, but considering we dealt the 5th pick/Gauthier you'd like more.

But hey Gauthier apparently has been awful & got benched yesterday so maybe this will be another Patrick for Ellis trade 😂😂
Didn't COC say he is 1C 50 goal scorer on waiting?

Really easy to blame Fedotov since let's just say it, he is not good. Still, I look at his presence like we had to sign him to pave the way for Michkov to come over... so I guess that's worth it in the end lol.

But other problems deserve equal blame: Lacking genuine top 6 talent outside of TK, lacking a true 1D. Actually even lacking a truly competitive first pairing.

And the mother trucking powerplay has been sooooooooooo bad for YEARS man. How can it be so bad for so long? What the hell, it is so bad it is funny at this point.

- Poehling was good tonight

- Foerster was slow and invisible

- Couts is slow as f*** but showed his value this game

- Tippett is a sprinter without a brain. the most one trick pony ive seen in a long while. I give him that he is very good in creating this chances but i dont see him converting this things ofter enough in the future. And he isnt doing anything else for the team.

He is what a lot of people said about Carter. 80 of 100 shots arent even on net! He looses the puck a lot in offensive zone. He is a no show on the PP.

- Michkov is doing great, although everyone can see that he still isnt 100% arrived in the NHL. Its obvious he is young and inexperienced. And he will need time.

- Sanheim had a not so good game. Was outright bad in a few situations.

- Drysdale solid, nice goal. Hopefully he can build on that!

- Laughts was good, nice goals.

- Fedotov isnt an NHL Goalie. Now its pretty obvious. He is slow to react on deflections. He isnt sound positionally. He is out of place after his first save/reaction and he suffers when he lets in the first goal.

- Frost is our 1. line Center. And that is not a good sign. I said years ago that Frost maybe can be a 2nd line center on a contender and i still think that way. But he cant be your best Center.

- Luchanko is a nice piece. But in my eyes its too early for him. But we all know why he is up with the big club! So nothing to discuss over this.

- Konecny had one of his bad games in my eyes. Sure he was unlucky in a few instances, but after that he tried too hard and wasnt his normal self. I dont liked his game this time. Nevertheless is he our best player!

- This dfense as a whole isnt NHL material. We cant bring the puck up ice on 5on5. We arent creative. It is terrible. And the opponent teams will learn to pressure this unit. It will be a long season with this lineup. Zamula is a 7th dman, Ristolainen a 6th. Johnson needs to retire. Drysdale is max a 4th PP specialist maybe only a 5th dman. York and Sanheim can be 2nd and 3rd dman on this team. But we are lacking a WHOLE LOT!

Fedotov making Cal look like H-Buck.
It's still early but at a minimum Fedotov needs 45 days on the farm to get better in N.A.
But then how will he pass through waivers (snickers).

Madder now that I’m up and tired cause of these f***s.

They are not worth being mad over.

In regards to Fedotov, nothing has changed for me. Still wondering how and why he got two years of term and 3M per as a total unknown in terms of NA hockey. Just an unnecessary gamble.

So he could give Michkov a loan to get him out of his contract.

Fedotov was "money for nothing," that is, it's a two year deal, he showed he can play at a high level in the KHL. So at worst you're out the money, at best you have a solid trade chip. This is what rebuilding teams do, no?

I wouldn't read too much into this road trip, it's a brutal trip, not just the West Coast but why aren't Vancouver and Seattle back to back? No, they have to go Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton then back to the coast. Crazy. That kind of travel kills practice even with a day off between games.

Now they're home, they'll have a chance to work out kinks.
So we'll have a much better read on this team in a couple weeks.

The Andre not playing is the worst part even though not surprising. Another game where EJ was awful and the team struggles so hard to move the puck out of their ends. Their continued love affair of old washed up vets is a huge detriment.

Using a few 60 min flights as an excuse while traveling to some of the nicest cities to visit in NHL is such a cop out. This team and head coach just are not good

This will end up being another contract buried and wasted. Kolosov is a straight up dope for not coming over at the start of camp.

Ivan plays so small in that net. Plays way to deep. I really do not see any positives so far with him. How long before Torts throws hi away is the question.

Still pushing the rebuilding team stuff. Love it.

Solid trade chip? Nobody is trading for this shooter tutor.
Jumping to conclusions off SSS.
Fedotov was a top KHL goalie before he was exiled to the Arctic circle.
So it was a gamble he could regain that form, KHL goalies have a good NHL track record.

Not all gambles work out, but you should take low cost ones with solid payoffs.

Only caught the 1st period again, and seems like it was once again the right choice.

I don't think Fedotov lasts very long. I have not liked a single game he's played in O&B.

Also time to get Andrae into a game. Flyers defense corps is very vanilla. If you're giving Luchanko a shot over Cates, then why not give Andrae a shot over Johnson or Zamula or Risto?

Scoot Lootin' scored a pair of nice goals.

A Low Cost gamble is paying him one year at less than 2 million ( even that is high ).

Stolarz would be a cheap gamble , this move is HORRIFIC and has close to zero upside.

Only a few year can justify paying Fedotov and Peterson the same as Connor Hellyubuck

Playing Andre doesn’t fool the authentics tho.

EJ is the seasoned cup winning grizzly vet, who wouldn’t want him.

Jett is the youngest guy in the NHL , he must be a future superstar.

Our paint eating fan base laps that shit up.

Only positive so far is it is short term deal with no long-term ramifications. No more excuses for Ivan.
