Congrats to Zuc. Voted for him. I’m all about effort. He also gives you so much skill. I’m going to hold on to my Callahan Jersey, because I believe the Rangers are going to bring Cally back next year. If he doesn’t return, I’ll be getting a Zuc Jersey.

1st star: Zuccarello
2nd star: St. Louis
3rd star: Brassard

HM: Richards, Lundqvist, Pouliot

Solid game to gain 2. The 1st period was a bit sloppy, but put it back together starting with Lundqvist's efforts to keep it 1-1 going to the 2nd. The Brassard, Zuccarello, and Pouliot line was absolutely phenomenal and the line combinations worked out in our favor in the end. Fast was surprisingly solid tonight in his 1st game back and got a good amount of ice time totaling 13:01 TOI. Had a shot on goal and a few nice set ups, too. Stralman was solid as well getting 2 assists and being a plus 2. He also logged in the 2nd most minutes for us tonight with 20:52. Girardi had 21:32. I thought every line had a bit of chemistry tonight and hopefully we should keep them when we face Buffalo. Solid win boys! Let's get that home ice advantage!

Took this one in live.

MSL's pass on the first goal is the best I've seen from a Rangers player in years. That play was all hustle. Fought for it, down to his knees, slides it by three opposing defenders to a wide open Richards. Just an amazing play that looked even better with each replay.

Stepan and MSL have great chemistry. Don't mess with that. The Poo Brass Zucc line should be held together too. Such great chemistry. I thought Pouliot was our best skater tonight besides MSL.

Henrik stood tall when he needed to.

Fast looked ok, had one defensive hiccup that almost was a bad giveaway, but he got bailed out. Very good at finding open ice and was more physical than I thought he would be. Where does he play though? Pouliot is a must re-signing, IMO.

The Rangers as a team absolutely put on a puck moving clinic tonight. Best I've seen the team pass to each other in years. It really could have been a dominating 7-1 or 8-1 win.

Aw. Yis.

Seriously tho, someone needs to write a letter to the NHL, the Rangers can't win games after giving up the 1st goal. Tomfoolery? Perhaps, skullduggery afoot? Stay tuned.

What has happened to Eric Staal?

He's having an off season. I don't know why everyone makes a spectacle of it when an elite athlete has an OFF season (and as "off" as Staal's season is, he will probably finish with ~ 60 points). But... he's certainly left something to be desired this year.

It's a lot like Lundqvist. Lundqvist puts up rock solid numbers, but for him, it's an off season.

Eric Staal puts up solid numbers, but for him, it's an off season. Staal scored 70+ points in 7 out of his last 8 seasons, and the one season he didn't was when he had 53 points in 48 games in a shortened season just last year. He has scored at a 70+ point clip 8 consecutive years.

With how consistent someone like Staal has been throughout his career, he's allowed to have one off season, and it doesn't mean he is finished. It's such a ridiculous notion on the forum that top athletes aren't allowed to have top years. Eric Staal has been the definition of consistency in his career.

EDIT: By the way, I'm not saying any of this towards you. I know you were just asking a question. I just think he is simply having an off season. And I was merely adding to that, that I'm not quite sure why fans don't sometimes recognize that an athlete might just not be having his best season.

Carolina hasn't been that great this year either. It happens. If next season is a down year for him as well, then there may be cause for concern, but I think he'll bounce back.

Lol @ zucc not being one of the three stars

Lundqvist played very well, making huge saves when the game was tight.

MSL had 3 assists and a great game.

Richards had 2 goals and his best game in a while.

I'd say the 3 stars were completely on point. Zucc was good but he's not going to be a star every game and that's okay. Hell he got honored before the game with an award that means more than anything besides MVP.

j moore has been excellent since returning. d depth with diaz helps as well while McD out

Jesper Fast throwing the body at center ice was the best moment of this game for me. He lifted Jordan Staal's stick and put him on the ground and Jordan is a big fella he wasn't just checking Nathan Gerbe out there... Kid showed tremendous desire. Loved it

I actually thought the Diaz Klein pairing was bad tonight. Can't blame either of them for the goal against, but they got pinned in their own zone a lot in the first and second periods.
