Not advocating trading either player. Just noticed how people keep commenting on what little assets we have and I wanted to point out the latter.

Well, yes, those players are assets, but they aren't movable assets, at least realistically.

He was also looking for his shot. When the guy is confident in his shot he has a laser. The guy to start the year looked like the pre-2013 Stepan that was invisible for long stretches and now he's back to last year. If he could just play an entire season like this he'll be a 65-70 point 2 way badass.

No way I give up either for them. Canes fans hate Eric Staal it seems and Stepan is better than Jordan Staal and Kreider as really good potential and is much younger.

Canes won't take it. They will want 1st round picks for 2015s draft which we have none left to give..

Beyond that there is no reason to trade step for Eric.... Both can produce 60-70 points. Maybe Eric can put up 90, but Eric costs another $6m a year... What a bargain.... Lolz
