Chytil leads the Wolfpack in points and is 1 point behind the league leader in AHL so far. Bring him up.

Kravtsov on the other hand...just 1 assist so far this season.

And if you believe the reports, the coaching staff ripped Kravtsov for the way that he got the assist. He's playing like 4th line minutes in the AHL..

A couple points:

- Was I crazy, or was Brendan Smith actually good tonight? In a 12th F/6th D kind of way?
- I'm getting pretty tired of Buch and Kreider being no shows. It's only four games, definitely. And certainly for the young guys, I'm willing to cut them slack for the first couple months. But Buch and Kreids are veterans who know they need to get off to quick starts to keep the team going early, and what's bugging me are the mental mistakes and "lazy play".
- I'm curious how many fans would be railing on Henrik if he had the game Georgiev had tonight? I can already picture the posts if he gave up the same first goal...

I've never been happy with the Lias Andersson pick but have to admit he looks to have some jump in his legs we never saw before. It's time to give him a chance.
IMHO lias' was our 2nd best forward tonight after kakko.

He had an Excellent game

Kreider should be benched...he's been a disaster and needs to get his head out of his ass.

I think Smith has been very good in his new role (both this season and last).

Lemieux was good to go?

Wow. Just wow. That’s gonna be a yikes from me, dawg.
Mentioned this during game. Maloney even brought it up during pregame on radio. He mentioned zibby playing really sick with the flu Saturday implying that Lemieux should have been good to go but felt Quinn was still irked by lemieux’s bad penalty on Saturday

At this point, for very little.

They should have moved him last deadline when he was playing ****ing great and more term.

He will fetch a 2nd at best in consideration to picks. The ploy is over. No team is over extending themselves for Kreider. I’ve been saying it for a while — Kreider is what he is.

Right now, if line 1 isn't carrying the load then the team's probably not gonna win. The second line looks disjointed with Kreider playing like trash and there not being a legit 2nd line center in that spot. The 3rd line has a defenseman many wanted to banish to the AHL on it (even if he has played decent thus far) and the 4th line has Micheal Haley on it.

The subtraction of Namestnikov plus the Chytil demotion has guys playing in spots they shouldn't be in again. Howden should be a 3rd or 4th line center or possibly even in Hartford, Smith shouldn't be on line 3 or maybe even at forward at all, Lemieux is strictly a 4th line guy, Fast is ideally a 4th liner on a good team. The forward group is just a damn mess right now.

I'll take the bold stance that benching Lemieux didn't cost us the game tonight.
Our bottom six is just a revolving door of about eight players who range from "barely belongs in the NHL" to "does not belong in the NHL" sans Fast.

And as much as I love Fast, when he stands out with flying colors compared to his cohorts, you might have a bad hockey team.

Rank on Panarin all you want. He creates space and separation with his handles. That in itself is incredible. The Rangers do not have a player like that. You can also attribute Zibanejad’s 8 points in 2 games because of Panarin on his line. He creates a lot of space and opportunities for his teammates.

Had the privilege of schlepping to Newark for that one. Wayyy further from Manhattan than I thought.

Pretty annoying game. Typical Devils luck, scoring a goal on a turnover from a broken stick and one off a player’s ass, but it’s not like the Rangers deserved to win.

Hughes got a point, but I thought Kakko was the far better player tonight. You can tell he was overthinking it a bit - he kept trying fancy toe drags. But he had the puck a bunch and was very involved. Maybe our best forward.

Trouba was pretty handily the worst defenseman tonight. Watching him lackadaisically try to break the puck out from behind the net with a forechecker on his tail was really frustrating.

Other than Kreider (terrible) I don’t think anyone else really stood out to me. They just looked out of sync as a whole.

Did anyone expect them to not look flat and out of sync out there? With this horrendeus scheduling, I cannot blame them. Some teams have played 8 games before tonight, most have played 7. The NYR had played 3(!). For a supposedly "professional" league, that's unacceptable. NYR launched out of the gates and looked hot and ready, but had NO games to keep the flow going. NHL players need to play to keep up with the tempo.

Were there seriously NO teams NYR could've played against during this period of time? Not a single way to squeeze in an away game against teams also not playing? Apparently not. We all know MSG is a circus arena, with literal circuses performing, so I can understand october is a horrible month for hockey, apparently. And apparently the priority for hockey isn't that high.

There's no point in resting, when there's nothing to rest for. You can't nurse injuries, when you haven't played any games to get injured in. It just gave the entire team the perfect recipe for a cold streak. I honestly put alot of blame on both the loss against Edmonton and this one against NJ on this Mickey Mouse league.

NYR's season basically started half a month later than the rest of the league and you will obviously struggle to win games, when you face teams who are in the game flow, while you're not.
