I mean is it crazy to say Howden has been our most consistent foward so far?Kid has done everything right so far and sure isnt playing like a rookie

Up until the point he was acquired, Zib has never done a single thing to ever indicate that he was capable of leading this team as the #1 center.
He's going to come from a horrible OTT team where he was a #3 to turn the team around?
It just goes well beyond common sense to even entertain such a fantasy..

Eh, the skills are definitely there, as is the pedigree.

In his two years here, we’ve seen him look like that first like center the Rangers desire, only to get derailed by an injury.

I don’t think the expectation was for him to lead a turnaround, so much as an intrigue by what could happen if all the pieces fell into place and the health was there.

Gotta give Quinn some huge credit for getting the team to come out flying for the 3rd. They did exactly what he's been preaching, and their hard work was rewarded. Sign me up for a team that competes like that all season, regardless of how talented they are or how much they win.

Brady f***in Skjei with that bardown snipe after an atrocious game. He saved his own skin with that goal.

Thought most of the team played like garbage tonight. Howden and Lundqvist where the stars of the night. We didn't deserve the win if it wasnt for those 2.

Now he's healthy and unlike the last two years where he came out on fire, he's come out horribly.

Really perplexing.

Up until tonight I would have said it was Vesey, but Howden has been incredibly impressive, especially after what was a pretty lackluster camp IMO.

Very impressed with that 3rd period tonight.

I’d this is the brand of hockey Quinn is preaching then sign me up. Wins losses whatever.

It’s the anti AV

Effort. Preparation. Passion. Purpose.

Vintage henrik too.

And good for Brendan smith. Back from the scrap heap.

Up and down game, but they came out flying in the third and played exactly the way they all talked about in camp.

Hank has been excellent since the preseason ended. Really solid. Nice to see.

That’s probably why he’s edged out Zucc as my biggest disappointment so far.

With Zucc, I accept that we’re at least a smidge past his peak and the decline could be noticeable this year.

Zibanejad doesn’t have that cover. This is his time. His window.

That worked out really well.

We were badly outshot in the first two periods but I don't think we were playing that badly. San Jose is a really good team. Anyway Henrik kept it close and then we carried the third apart from a period of time around DeAngelo's interference penalty.

This is the first time I've seen the Rangers in the regular season this year by the way. We were out in California and flew back on Sunday right in the middle of the Carolina game.

I really liked Howden here. Besides the offensive plays he does a lot of little things. Pretty good defensively and very good at face-offs for such a young player. He's a rounded player like Stepan but he's a better skater with more size. He had one faux pas--getting to the bench to slowly on the Donskoi goal. DeAngelo I thought was great in the first two periods---the best I've seen him play. The third was kind of an adventure for him with the penalty and then getting tripped up by his own stick. It might have been the best game I've seen Namestnikov play as well and I liked Claesson.

I wouldn't be adverse to going with the same lineup against Edmonton on Saturday.
