Wow...I really expected Lundqvist to play tonight. He's no longer scratched because he needs a rest, he's scratched because he's bad.

And now we pay our backup goalie 8 millions a year, while our No.1 gets the NHL minimum of half a million

Well if Schneider doesn't play well tonight we can always put Luongo back in net Sunday night in Tampa.

Talbot brings some very healthy competition to the table. The fact that he's being played over Henrik for one game sends a pretty strong signal that you will not get icetime on merit alone.

Now if we only had the same talent in the AHL that could replace our big airguns for a game to send the same message.

I have to admit I was expecting Hank, given his track record vs. the Caps. We're like kryptonite to OV usually, and that's partially to his credit. McD, Girardi and Staal have each had their turns cancelling him out completely as well, I find. But I'm cool with another Talbot start. He's given me no reason to doubt yet. I do firmly believe he'll come back down to earth and play a mediocre or even awful game. It's not a matter of if, but rather when.

Play him until it happens and then let Hank seize the reins like he's meant to. Stop the "controversy" there. Hank being Hank with Talbot as a dependable backup is a great "problem" to have. Just need to work out the order of things when life gets back to normal, as I expect it will sooner than later.

Hopefully this will light a fire under hank's ass. IMO he got way too comfortable knowing that he will never go more than a game on the bench even when he is struggling. Marty Biron was a good goalie for us but Talbot has been pretty flawless. Now that the team has more confidence when talbot is in net hopefully hank will get it together mentally and play like he used to play

I like the call in going with Talbot. Win now, figure it out later.

Good, with Talbot in net this team has a chance to win. Lundqvist gets blown out every game and is utterly useless. He can rot on the bench.

Yikes. Is he on your fantasy team or something?

Yeah this is a good move by our coach, but he needs to be consistent and also sit Nash. I don't care how much money you make, you play bad , you get punished

The idea that we should sit Nash because Hank is sitting is moronic. We have Talbot performing extremely well behind Hank. Who is replacing Nash? Pyatt?
