McG definitely took the decision there, but good for D-Mac for standing toe to toe with him. Looks like McG asked him at the end if that was his first fight in the NHL.

sather, who is this kid macarath related to ??? cause he can't fight for ***t!

If anyone thinks that was a 'beating' then most of you never watched some of the great fights, especially in the 90's. Most of McGrattan's punches were over the top on top of his head.

McIlrath held his own very well, and McGrattan recognized it as well with what he said to him at the end. Mutual respect.

That was a nice moment.

And our big boy, new shiny toy McIlrath, still can't win a fight! God, I want someone on this team who can pummel people.

EDIT: That said, I'll give him props for at least "competing"

I just want us to win a fight already.

1st fight vs a guy thats fought 80 times, what did you expect, exactly ? He landed punches and took some to the face without flinching. This was a good fight

I've seen plenty of McIlrath's fights.

He was clearly nervous. I think he did fine for his first fight, against McGratten no less.

Lol @ people giving McIlrath **** for not pummeling one of the most feared fighters in the game.

some ppl have absolutely no idea what they are talking about. 1st career nhl fight against arguably the best heavy in the league with 80 nhl fights under his belt and they are complaining about mcilrath not pummelling him...
