I mentioned this earlier in the weekend but I’m pushing all my chips in. You’ll never have this cap space and assets to add around the core again

I’m overpaying to get gourde (at 50%) and Giordano. And my offer would start with Chytil kravtsov and even Lundkvist.

reilly Smith is another no brainer to me.

I love Gourde and he’s a good fit but he’s 30. I wouldn’t give up that youth and talent for him. I’m not sold on adding two pieces making this team a real threat THIS post season. I know that sounds ridiculous considering their spot in the standings, but the playoffs are way different. If you’re going to overpay go Horvat or Larkin or an even younger guy like Lundell or PDL. JMO.

Dont know if Blais makes a comeback in the playoffs. Gourde/Goodrow would provide flexibility for defending leads late in games. Gourde is a puck hound.

Maybe you upgrade Gauthier as well. Kessel on the cheap? Kessel and Chychrun? Chytil, Kravstov, 1st, 4th? Kessel is slow maybe he isn’t the finally choice for that 3rd line. But Chychrun would be some add.

Like I said, I’m a Gourde fan but I personally don’t see that as the right move.

I really like those lines and if Blais somehow happened to make it back for the playoffs, stick him on that line with Gourde and Goody. OMG it’s over!

I'm starting to come around on this idea. They've shown they can compete with the best in the league. Why not take a run this year with the cap space? It's only going to get harder as the younger guys get their raises.

Would be a real shrewd move by Drury to score Gourde with money retained to play 3C, ride out Strome the rest of the year and let the chips fall where they may, and have Gourde take over at 2C next season so they don’t have to overpay Strome on a deal he will never live up to

If we didnt win that cup it would have been a disaster, the team sucked for years after that. Its better to build slow and continue to use players in your system to get over the top imo it sets you up for longer runs like Detroit, Chicago etc.
