I don’t know how the fancy stats shake out, but he literally cannot be worse than Patrik Nemeth who’s averaging 17 minutes this year.

Vegas plays Brett Howden
Colorado plays Jack Johnson

good teams paying bad players is nothing new

Or maybe Hajek has been fine. Listen. I couldn't care less if he's on the team or not. He is getting the irrational hate that I'm not a fan of. He's a Ranger. And I'll support him because he wears the uniform.

Sure. My point is I’ve liked him him in his limited time more than Nemeth, who I think has been bad in his short time here.

I mentioned this earlier in the weekend but I’m pushing all my chips in. You’ll never have this cap space and assets to add around the core again

I’m overpaying to get gourde (at 50%) and Giordano. And my offer would start with Chytil kravtsov and even Lundkvist.

reilly Smith is another no brainer to me.

this team can win right now with those types of upgrades.
Are you thinking gio just for this season? I’d be ok with that but prefer chynchrun long term.

Defense is really shaping up, but getting a little crowded.

For me, it's the choice between Nils and Jones. I've been really impressed by Jones so far between camp, Hartford, and his last 2 NHL games. Thankfully, both are 21 and we have some time. Advanced stats for both are a bit ugly at the moment, so we'll see how that goes.

Nemeth is an odd man out on defense. Hajek has been serviceable for significantly cheaper.

I have been a big proponent for Chytil, but he is starting to concern me. If he's not producing, I'd like to at least see a bit more in terms of defensive play, and he has some bad puck luck, too. At some point, you want to see some things go his way, but it looks like he's constantly fighting it.

He's big. He can skate. He has offensive ability...he just can't get it to click.

3 straight wins against teams currently in the playoffs.

it’s almost like the stupid stat of record against playoff/non playoff teams is variance. Almost

I'm hoping we lose the next 3 against teams not in playoff contention to make the contrast of that stat less stark. :sarcasm:

McDavid has committed 3 obvious penalties in the last 5 minutes. Must be nice to be him.

Koskinen gonna be waived after tonight.
He also took a clear and calculated dive early in the game. I think it was Chytil, McDavid skated into him, grabbed his arm, and pretended Chytil elbowed/interfered with him. Their goalie also took a huge novelty flop when McKegg was trying to get out of the net.
I guess this is the kind of stuff the oilers are working on, as opposed to hockey.

I just don't see a reason to play him.

Lindgren-Fox
Miller-Trouba
Jones-Lundkvist

Let it ride.
Yep. And next year I’d try Miller with Fox and Jones with Trouba and Lindgren with Lundkvist. Schneider and Robertson next up.

I don’t even think Nemeth has been bad. He just hasn’t added anything but - I guess - support for developing Nils. The way the game is played today, defensemen have to be able to contribute to the attack. And Nemeth doesn’t do that. He tries - I think he knows it’s a thing - but it never really works.

These volume video advertisements are annoying the shit out of me here. Can anyone help me with this. I vome here sometimes when at work, and can get busted by the volume, and it also startles me sometimes. Bad for my health.

Just dropped in to say I thought Miller... and Hajek, of all people... were incredibly effective last night, two guys I am often down on. And Jones was fine in much the same way Lundqvist is fine. For me going forward, Nemeth is an occasional rotation with the latter two but the #7 more often than the #6.

And oh, yeah... this team needs Ryan Strome and does not need Filip Chytil. Management needs to find a way to sort this.
