Rangers have to come out and play the game like they did against Philly. They can't take it slow and careful and try to be deliberate in everything they do.

Skate hard, outwork the other team, play like everything is on the line.

If you watched last nights Boston/Montreal game, you can see why a team like Boston is better than the Rangers right now and it's not just personnel. They battle hard and play with urgency for most of the game. You don't see them constantly losing puck battles along the boards for 2 periods and then decide to try a little bit.

Basically, the Rangers have to take it to Ottawa (or any team they play) and put pressure on at every opportunity

having players who use their size to their advantage would help :help:

Good thing it's in ottowa, so Sens won't have home ice advantage.

We need a big game from Gaby here. Richie finally looked good, now it's Gaby's turn.

This!
If this team is going to make any kind of serious run (assuming that they do get into the playoffs) they are going to need some sort of offensive contribution from Gabby.
I could deal with the scoring drought if the guy was getting shots, but right now there are just too many games where the guy is just invisible (like Philly the other night).

The true factor in this game is whether or not a Frolov goal is scored. That is the true test of a great team. I have faith.

Not me.

The Rangers need to a win a ****ing game in Montreal. They haven't since 2009. Drawing the Canadiens in round 1 is a real possibility, this team has to end that damn streak. Sick of writing off every game in Montreal.

Me too. Winning these two in Canada, against good teams, would be huge. I want to see back to backs here.

I do not have to go to work between any of the next three games. They need to win all three to ensure I have a nice vacation.

Anything else is unacceptable.

No team plays with less urgency these days than the Flyers. Their effort was pathetic. Ottawa is not going to lay down like the Philly did...Rangers are going to have to substantially increase their compete level if they want a positive result in Ottawa.

It's easy to outwork the other team when they're not working at all...now it's time to carry that work rate to the next level!

Maybe they can bring Bryzgalov too...............
Yes please :p

What i meant was to build on the aggressiveness from last game (and hopefully take it to the next level), as Ottawa should be a substantially harder opponent.

Yeah this is more or less what I'm saying. The Rangers have to match or better the intensity that any team is going to bring against them. They did it last year and that's why they were so successful, but it's been missing this year. They have good players, they should be able to pressure the heck out of any other team on the forecheck and create their chances, but they've been completely hit or miss about that this year

I just don't quite understand why they can't win in Montreal.

Psychological. The building is crazy loud, and intense. It ****s with their heads. They are weak in that sense because the Rangers are the most coddled, privileged, well taken care of team in the NHL.

Its all a mindset. They let that team, building and fans get to them.

Gaborik on the 3rd line LW and Boyle on the 2nd line. Such a great coach we have, such a genius. With Boyle's offensive talent, skating and puck skills, he'll get Richards going in no time.

At least he managed to get back to the Hagelin - Stepan - Nash line, which this fanbase and the media has screamed about for I don't know how long.

Its almost as if hes doing it purposely to make Gaborik look worse so they can get rid of him.

It funny, but I don't think this team plays with alot of intensity. Let's face it, they are not tough and they just don't seem to check/be physical on many nights.
Last year there seemed to be alot of complaining (myself included) about all the 3rd line grinders the team had. But on most nights, those were the guys who set the tone. They brought the phyiscal play knowing that the team had to toughness to back it up if needed. Like I said this team doesn't have that toughness.

This is a finesse team that tries to implement a strict defensive system. Unfortunately that's why I feel like they lack intensity on many nights.
