Playing in the city of sins immediately prior to Christmas. You just gotta love it.

Zegras makes a miracle comeback, scores a triple hat trick, and announces his immediate retirement after the game. What odds does Vegas give me for this happening? Probably something like 10/1.

Not expecting a win but it would be a huge confidence boost for the team. For me, if they play a composed game, score on the PP, and keep it close, I'll be happy. This has been a better road trip overall than I thought. I just don't want a blowout.

If the ducks were to somehow win this game. The entire team has belief again, and verbeek may pull the trigger on another deal for a top 6 forward to help the team ( especially if Leo is out now too alongside Zegras ) verbeek is feeling the heat, he knows we need to clearly show that we’re coming out of a rebuild.

The Athletic came out with an article covering HD SV% with goalies that have 100 starts over four years. Gibby wasn't in the top-10. It got me thinking what we do have for the past two seasons with Gibby and Dostal. I used Natural Stat Trick as the resource.

  • 2023-24 League High Danger Sv% with a minimum of 1000 minutes (about 10 games)
    • 1st. Stolarz with 0.894 HD SV%
    • 23th-Tied. Gibby with 0.829 HD SV%
    • 44th. Dostal with 0.808 HD Sv%
    • 61st. Vanacek with 0.742 HD Sv%

  • 2024-25 League High Danger Sv% with a minimum of 400 minutes (about 7 games)
    • 1st. Talbot with 0.932 HD SV%
    • 18th. Dostal with 0.835 HD SV%
    • 21st. Gibby with 0.831 HD Sv%
    • 59th. Georgiev with 0.706 HD Sv%

Hey, now. Dostal made a huge jump in improvement!

A road team playing a back to back will lose over 70% of the time, I'd assume even stronger odds if both are road games versus home+road. Add in that we are getting Vegas - it's clear that we have no business winning this one.....

We’re due one of those flukie games where vegas comes out flat, their goalie sucks and we just kind of get the bounces. I live in vegas, I won’t be going because it rages my soul the times I have gone and we get lit up. I don’t mind missing out on a win and watching from home
