People are quick to point out players who have succeeded but I don't think the issue is that nobody has excelled.

I think the issue is that those who haven't excelled have been not-NHL bad.

Kakko, Howden, Hajek, and Lindgren all have cases for being top 10 worst players in the NHL so far this year. Andersson was right there before he went down. Kravtsov's season has been an absolute toilet fire.

I think writing it off as lost stock or development curve is oversimplifying it.

I mean I'm a realist... some call me negative. But I never thought this team was going to be a lot better and I also don't see them as being A LOT worse right now.

you can make a large number of arguments that this team is worse than last year and them being more fun to watch isn't really a good counter.

I've said a couple times just in this thread that their defense is poor. The reason people are lining up to debate that with me is because I'm not freaking out about it and I also mention the positives. I guess I'm just not as emotionally attached these days, I don't know. Then again I am frustrated with how they're playing but it's not like the season is a total loss for me.
