Another way of asking the question: Is Replacing a 65-point Strome with a 85-point Eichel worth 3 or 4 A-level assets? How much else, aside from the 20 extra points, does Eichel bring to make it worth it?

Is Strome+2o worth Kravtsov+Schneider+Jones+1st?
Eichel to be fair is probably a Mika replacement rather than a Strome replacement. At least long term.

It's a relevant point that neither Strome nor Buchnevich have had much opportunity to show NYR what kind of postseason player they are.

Yet another reason to try to make the playoffs this season and next, to get some perspective.

I honestly think one of the (several) humps that hindered us from winning a cup in our last window was Rick Nash absolutely disappearing in the playoffs.

So incredibly disappointing. Will never forget...

Congratulations on another convincing win!

Just what this rebuilding Roster needs to keep injecting confidence into their young players.

Buchnevich with another great game. Like clockwork. Also didn’t notice that he took the monkey off Kakko’s back last game. LEGEND.

Carter Hart was having a very Hart time out there:/

LMAO at Kevin Hayes’ shot selection. The guy had a 2 on 1 where the pass was pretty much the better option, and he chooses to take a slap shot. And then breaks his stick.

Yea ok. Zibanejad is back. These past few games have possibly been the best of his career. And that’s saying something. Wow. I cannot believe he fixed his one-timer. Just wow.

Just no words to describe Fox. That SH assist to Buchnevich was insane. The combination of his hands and IQ is VERY rare in this league.

The kids leave a lot to be desired, but Lafreniere’s game tonight in particular bothered me. Kind of ugly. He fell down a lot and was poor defensively.

Granted, my analysis may be a little off because the replay of the game on MSG skipped a lot of the action.

In regard to Strome, he always had the tools. This is clearly the best situation he has been in, and they all look like they're having fun out there. The chemistry he has with Panarin I don't think can just be "replicated" with somebody else. Their skillsets and games mesh well together IMO.

All players mesh with Panarin.

At this moment I wouldn’t do Fox for eichel one for one
Imagine the impact of losing Fox on the Rangers' offense. Could Eichel make up for that? Probably assuming he's not injured again.

But what about losing Fox's role on D? How the f*** would the Rangers account for that?

So why would the Rangers trade Fox for Eichel and who else would they have to lose to account for Eichel's 10mm cap hit?

Fox for Eichel makes the Ranger worse immediately and for the future.

Eichel is a big name player, but he doesn't help the Rangers get closer to a Cup.

I just want to point out that for all the talk of Quinn ruining prospects, AV has Carter Hart rolling with an .869 save percentage and 4.03 GAA for the SEASON. I haven't seen numbers that bad for a started since the 80's.

Defensemen like Fox are players you build a team around.

He seems destined to become a Pronger, Niedermeyer, Leetch type. The kind of player the other team plans their game around stopping and the type of player who can take over a game on their own.

Fox gone would set the Rangers back years, and this is presuming they could find someone even remotely close to his ability to replace him. If things go like we are all hoping Fox and Makar will be playing trade the Norris trophy at some point.
