Telling ya man, forcing plays along the wall in the Dzone. Throwing pucks around like a pinball. Everyone has the playbook on the Rangers: stack the wall, possess up high.

The only good news about the game is that 4th line looks really good. 3rd line is still a disaster..

Kreider looks good. Boyle and Pyatt still look like uncoordinated slowpokes.

I agree, the Rangers need to change their D zone strategy on their breakout. McDonagh made a ridiculously boneheaded play that sums it up for me: two Caps along the the wall, no Rangers there, he stills plays it RIGHT TO THE TWO CAPS. What kind of thought process is that? There needs to be more puck support.

Kreider is finally showung his speed, shot and even his defense was real good. The problem for him is that he plays with 2 useless guys. at least millers has some speed

Pretty good start, had 3 good looks early and then it all went to poo. Play in our D zone was terrible, t's amazing how there's still no understanding between the D and forwards regarding positioning.

Nice goal by Asham and it's always good to see a PP goal, no matter how lucky. More importantly, it was nice to see some heart and a bit of fight after they went down by two. they need to bring that into the 2nd period.

Stepan's been the best forward, despite blowing the coverage on AO's goal. Newbury's looked ok for the "worst Ranger ever"

Any update on when Staal is due back?

There is an understanding. But the wings constantly look confused because they can't overcommit to the wall in anticipation. Torts wants the wings to stay BETWEEN the wall and the slot at all times. So, in case the point men get the puck, the wings can be in the position to block a shooting lane.

However, since the wings don't block shots nearly as much; its rather pointless. Would much rather have wings play man to man on the points.

Trautwig asked Noob why he looked like he had chemistry with his linemates.
It's not him having chemistry, it's the fact that they practice offense in Connecticut

Hank with the mr softie goals again.asham flying from the bike to bench to hero ..Newbury wil be OM for a game or 3 then. Nothing like always

Just fyi, Newbury plays one game and has as many points as Halpern had in 30. He is also really good at faceoffs as well.

I hate Newbury, but really can't believe people were so upset with Halpern being let go. He was so useless it drove me mad.

Pyatt really needs to go next. Besides not providing any sort of offense he lets Callahan be slashed by ovechkin and doesn't even look his way. No gumption, no fight, no scoring ability, not even faceoff or skating ability like Halpern had.

Not really.. First one debatable but it went in via Backstrom's chin... 2nd there is just no chance for Hank. What an ignorant statement.

The Rangers have the worst bottom six, they said. Those guys are worthless, they said.

Before this game, they did. The 3rd and 4th lines were black holes offensively. Kreider, Newbury, Asham, fresh blood that changes the dynamic of the bottom six.
