Kreider looks much mire aggressive and confident. i wish he wasnt playing with boyle and pyatt but he is holding his own despite that

Hahahaha. They're really not looking that good and they've still tied the game up. I would be SO pissed if I was a Caps fan.

They looked great in the first 3-4 minutes. Not sure what happened, but they just started turning the puck over and getting trapped. Aside from that 10 minute period in between the beginning and the end of the period, the Rangers were fine. They just had a complete collapse in that 10 minute period. Unacceptable, but at least we came back hard.

Everyone complaining about Newbury being out on the PP - the PP looked good. I don't care who's out there if they're actually creating chances.

Not a good period..fortunate to be tied. Glad we stepped it up at the end though. I really think either Richards of Stepan needs to be replaced on the first powerplay unit by Gaborik (or someone else) though. Having them on the same unit resorts Newbury to being our C on the 2nd unit which is not a good thing.

Lines for the 2nd period

Asham-Stepan-Callahan
Gaborik-Newbury-Kreider
Hagelin-Nash-Pyatt
Powe-Boyle-Biron

Richards relegated to backup

More like, Stepan consistently shows himself to be the best playmaker on the roster. Put him on the point. Makes sense to me.
I love Stepper, but he doesn't have the shot to be on the point. It's as Pejorative Slured as Richards being there.

Obviously it's all Torts, and his system.

Perhaps the system involves a 10 minute long rope-a-dope?

Pretty good start, had 3 good looks early and then it all went to poo. Play in our D zone was terrible, t's amazing how there's still no understanding between the D and forwards regarding positioning.

Nice goal by Asham and it's always good to see a PP goal, no matter how lucky. More importantly, it was nice to see some heart and a bit of fight after they went down by two. they need to bring that into the 2nd period.

Stepan's been the best forward, despite blowing the coverage on AO's goal. Newbury's looked ok for the "worst Ranger ever"

Any update on when Staal is due back?

Unacceptable being down 0 -2, we need to win this game, even when the goals are lucky flukes, I'm liking our compete level tonight. Dead weight gone, less guys are complacent out there, we will see what happens.

The first 15 pages before Asham scored must be pure gold. Who was the new coach coming in? Where was Stepan traded or was he released? Im sure it was all the usual subjects.

Telling ya man, forcing plays along the wall in the Dzone. Throwing pucks around like a pinball. Everyone has the playbook on the Rangers: stack the wall, possess up high.

The only good news about the game is that 4th line looks really good. 3rd line is still a disaster..

I'm gonna say this despite the fact that people will take it the wrong way..I love Newbury's stick

It doesn't change a damn thing. The Rangers still have major systemic problems.
