Yeah, I'm not sure if you remember the reffing from those decades. Players got away with murder.For decades there was one ref.
You cannot excuse a player being tripped at the blueline leading to a breakaway the otherway.

I'm not excusing it, but my point is if there was a 2nd ref it would have been caught and called. Someone like you who has never actually reffed a hockey game, doesn't understand all the different things that can obstruct your view on any given play.
