I spent quite some time looking through numbers at http://stats.hockeyanalysis.com now, and was honestly shocked when I saw past 3 year corsi and fenwick. Zucc is just massacring everyone else on the team in advanced stats.

Falk is not a seasoned fighter, but he has dropped the gloves with them. In his NHL career he's at 50% in fights. He's not one of the best fighters in the league by any measure, but he is the toughest guy on the team by a mile when Dorse is out.

Del Zotto has been misused so badly this season.

Getting scratched, putting him on the right side where it's obvious he can't play, etc. Just stick him on the left side from now on and let him play. Just a couple games ago (or last game), he finally got put back on the left side and had a good game.

Sorry, I am in stat heaven today. But Del Zotto was the player who had the by far best PK numbers last season if you go by Goal against per 2min and he had significant PK time. (0.14 goals against per 2m in PK)

Edit: this was 4vs5 play, did not look at 3vs5 or 3vs4

Yeah you are right.

He's been mismanaged and frankly, his value is damaged.

For sure he's been brutal for stretches but now it's a matter of having his confidence beaten down by alternating games. I was at the buf game and he played pretty well.

He better get used to this platoon thing. The team lacks toughness and falk at least looks the part. Dz is a victim of not doing anything special and falk is benefiting from his supposed size and snarl.

I agree, but I'm going to try and put some logic behind it.

AV still has no idea what he has in Moore, DZ, and Falk. He has no idea who he trusts. He has no idea who is the best combination pairing from those three.

He sees a rivalry game, and puts in Falk because the kid is a lot tougher than DZ. You could make the argument that DZ should be in over Moore, but again, I think AV is still lost when it comes to these three.
