Never really considered Backstrom a dirty player. They're all hockey players, they have their moments, but Nik isn't dirty.

We need to focus on our game this series, not theirs. No matter who the opponent is, i f they have the best PP in the league, don't send them on it. Simple as that. It's 1 job, play clean and hard, and let Hank be Hank.

We got this.
 
I'd really like Clowe and Dorsett in this series. Adds a dimension the Caps don't have on their roster.

Indeed. I'm more worried about Green/Carlson blasting from the point through screens and traffic, by far the best way to beat Hank. It is so bad that it actually feels like we are better at preventing GA 3v5 than 5v6...

But with their PP running as hot as it has, I doubt they will want to change a strategy that has worked so well for them, which actually could be a good thing for us.

Has there been any leak what the schedule looks like? Obviously its set by now.

Will they release it after the Boston game tonight?


I know the "speculated" schedule is Tues and Thru in WSH, then home on Sat. But is that sat going to be an afternoon or night game?

I missed it, but my post reaffirms your post: all the events are independent. None of the season series, playoff series or year-to-year series have anything to do with this year.

So, I agree with you there.

As long as NBC doesn't pick up a game on Sunday Afternoon.. I'm happy..

Nothing more depressing than listening to skeletor on Sunday afternoon.
 
I love how we seem to be the underdog, here. Their division is a complete joke.

We aren't losing this series.

Looks like I'll be watching another Caps/Rangers series from the Caribbean.

I remember him going Peter Forsberg on Anisimov and then Lundqvist.



Backstrom is clearly wrong though, no team was better than the other.

Edit: beaten on the forsberg move lol.

Dear lord, I ventured into the main boards thread and quickly realized why despise the Caps fanbase more than any other. They have a vocal contingent that are like the most arrogant part of the Penguins fanbase, but with a lot less to back it up.

There are a few who try to have a reasonable discussion, but it feels like they have been slightly brainwashed by the more vocal part of their brethren. Apparently Ribeiro is better than Stepan, assists are the ONLY thing that matters when evaluating centers, and Marcus Johansson is at least as good as any NYR center.

Their tone and attitude is probably the reason why I've put WSH down a bit more harshly than they've likely deserved earlier in this thread. I just don't want to give that team any respect, and am willing to use a bit of hyperbole to put them down a bit extra.

I will try to avoid that thread like the plague unless we sweep the first two games in Washington, then I might as the great Jeremy Clarkson put it: go down there and mock.

I may get physically ill if we lose this series.

Why couldn't we play Boston instead? I like Boston fans.

This sums it up very well. I easily dislike Caps fans the most of any NHL team. Even Pittsburgh. Probably shouldn't say more than that.

How things have changed....(sigh)

I was looking forward to the B's. Hopefully we'll get a crack at them this post season.
 
By the time this series is over, you will all swear you were listening to the Caps home broadcast.
