I just dont think he is very good. Should not be on the pp.
Cant win any battles mainly because of how small he is. Zucc does it but he is just a much better player who actually know how to use his small body to his advantage along with all the skill, twoway game, backchecking ability and speed he has. Desharnaid just doesnt bring anything to the table.

I want Chytil sent away immediately at this point. We need to get some wins under our belt, and it's crystal clear Chytil is in over his head at the moment. Him looking lost and missing backchecking assignments can/has cost us goals against. And when he sits for extended periods, we're wearing down one of our Centers via double shifts.

I liked what I've seen him but that's not even the point. We have nobody better to replace him right now.

AV doesn't trust the rookie. Paul Carey is an AHLer. 10 NHL forwards are playing right now and DD is one of them. He's gotta play right now.

I dont really disagree. I just think the main problem is that he has played center in the top 6. Ridicolous ask from a 18 year old drafted 21st overall or what it was. No centers were double shifted i think. It was Zucc who was double shifted when Miller got moved to center. Zucc played multiple shifts with Carey and Desharnais.

Yes, Zucc was double-shifted. Joe mentioned it last night.
 
Chytil getting sent back to CR is inevitable.

Im not liking this poor structure, attention to detail and dumb f*** mistake after mistake.

Ada Smith made a lot of gaffs. Not the brightest guys out there, that's for sure, but I'm eager to see of they can simplify and play to their strengths and of Ruffy can actually learn from 7 straight years of poor d-zone structure.

Also looking forward to Miller in the Middle. AV needs to get past his shit with him and realize Millers one of the few leaders this team has that will lay it on the line.

Depth wise, Fil needs to be replaced. If your sheltering him 2 periods in. Then stop jerking the kid around. Let him get a few more per Diems for Gorts not addressing the forwards and send him down.

I'd like to see if these guys actually use their brains and play to their strengths. If not, then make the call to tank by game 15.

Oh and I love what Shatts does on the PP... But if his d game 5v5 stays what it has been for 7 years... Stop fancying yourself as a shutdown presence if your going to float out there. You're being paid to provide offense. Be what you're good and not what would make for a good interview.

It certainly is a lot harder than playing against other rookies and AHL centers during pre-season. Which is why he should go back to Zlin

I'm not even sure I would consider him "playing 2 games as the 2C" for us. He's not playing, plain and simple. Nobody can get any type of flow to their game playing 2 minutes a period. And everytime he does play he knows he's under an extreme microscope so he plays completely nervous.
 
After 2 preseason games people were going nuts over our 2 rookies. I said I liked our enthusiasm but we should tap the brakes a little bit because its just preseason. I said I would love for him to be a Donnie Murdoch as a rookie but that is very unlikely. I had a few people jump on that statement but the regular season is different than preseason. Chytil may or may not be ready but just like in the preseason I say we should not overreact to his first 2 games. The more he plays the more experience he will gain and the more accustomed he will become to the game speed. He will probably not stay much longer but lets not overreact to anything.

I think it's important to remember that this defense needs time to gel. Most of these guys have not played together before and due to AVs ridiculous habit of never icing the full roster in preseason they didn't gel at all. I'll be worried if it still looks this bad past the 10 game mark.

Anyways, beat Montreal!

He’s probably going to go back to Staal-McDonagh tonight. I want to see the top-4 shake out to McD-Shatty and Skjei-ADA eventually. Brendan Smith needs to shake off the new contract hangover and remember how to play hockey. Embarrassing camp and start to the season.
