I made the offer and made the deal so my opinion isn't neutral but I feel like Parayko was a top 3 round pick and Trocheck was a 5th rounder so in that sense you definitely got more value than me, no question.

However for the team that I want to build I feel like my current 3 man D is more than adequate and I want to make the best top 12 forward group

I wanted a winger that can make a good duo with Thornton on the top line

1st, and 2nd round wingers taken in the draft were not an option (Kucherov, Perry, Ovi, Benn, Hall etc)

after that these were the only guys I wanted to fill that specific role with Thornton:

Mark Stone, Vincent Trocheck, James Neal, Brad Marchand

so only 4 players.. Tried Neal but no go, knew I had a good chance at Trocheck because I'm very high up on him (as evident of the 4 man list and above Huberdeau), higher than every GM in this draft

You could have taken Trochek instead of Reinhart if you liked him so much lol.

I'm liking my team this year. Feel I might be able to secure a divisonal spot rather than a wildcard this year. Depends on depth picks though. Gotta shore up my 3rd line soon. Really like my D so far, and with Lundy as goalie I think I have a much improved Dcore already than last years, and a far superior goalie than last years too. Not to mention my top 6 is better this year too.
