I wonder if Vince or Mollie or one of these cowards will ask Gallant why he is putting Hunt with Panarin-Strome. Is this out of his hand because of Panarin's contract clauses on who he chooses to play with?

Gallant would probably have some nasty, short reply because he doesn't know how to talk to the media.

I have never gone from zero to hate on a coach than with Gallant.

We can all argue about the weaknesses around the edges but the biggest and most important problem the Rangers have is their 1C. If Mika is playing like this the Rangers will go nowhere, full stop.

Getting hot early in the year really shifted some expectations for people, myself included. We're in that 11-16 range of teams. We're going to beat the bottom feeders and look like this against the big guys. Hopefully winning so much early in the season gave us enough runway to get into the playoffs and get spanked in 5 by one of the top teams.

I know it's frustrating, but the Av's weren't always this good. They've paid their dues and gotten whooped plenty, it's part of the process.

Chytil and Mika are legit concerns however. Nemeth too, but he will be replaced in the near future.

Georgiev’s rebound control gives me migraines.

And that goal wasn’t a rebound off him but it’s also another weakness of his, tracking blocked/broken plays in the net front area.

Igor is able to control the game from the Dzone so much better with his rebound control and ability to handle the puck. With Georgiev half the time I end up wondering if he will even be able to stop it properly in a dump in behind the net

I support Gauthier but he has been f***ing terrible tonight. He had a chance in the neutral zone to help get the puck deep while Goodrow/Rooney was on the ice battling. Flails at the puck and misses. Team cant reset. Goal comes about 45 seconds later.

Not enough jump in this team. Careless, sloppy play. Irresponsible defensive play.

The biggest issues are Chytil and Nemeth. Especially Chytil. He is in a top 9 role as a Center. He is a black hole. He doesn’t do anything. He doesn’t win faceoffs. In fact it feels like he gets kicked out of the faceoff dot constantly. He is not a good hockey player. Doesnt bring much to the table. He is soft as charmin. Him and Strome are very similar players in a lot of ways, except Strome is the veteran player who has put points up.

The other elephant in the room is Zibanejad. His play is unacceptable. He is committing highway robbery at this point with his new contract.

I love all these holiday takes on the state of the team, I really do. But I ain't worried. It takes years and years and YEARS to git gud in this league. Not "make the playoffs off the back of some bullshit" but truly gud. You don't just beat a proper, true, bonafide contender at home easily (or even at all) unless you too are a proper, true, bonafide contender. We are not that, and won't be until at the EARLIEST 2023-2024 when we should be due to make a decent deep run.

doubt it can get worse. Hunt has produced like 2 point on that line.

This is what those of us who had concerns about signing him long term were trying to warn about. I know there weren't many options but signing him was probably one of the worst.

oh my god Holik didn't just suck. He was like an inescapable riptide of suction. He was the envy of Dyson AND Shark.

When has Chytil stuck up for teammates and or played a physical game. One is soft as butter and looks hurt every shift. Needs more weight in his lanky body, the other is an all round player and a good 2 way player although he is not good at faceoffs but brings bite to his game and is more noticeable and has more skill.
