Kyle Connor in his D+2 season looked lost. Mark Scheifele didn't make it full time until his D+3.

Remember that before declaring Chytil and Andersson busts.
People don't really grasp how difficult it is for a 19/20 year old to succeed in the NHL unless you are a legitimate elite superstar like McDavid/Crosby. Both of our kids are playing fine for where they are at.

What about his game makes you say that? Which part exactly? His shot? His vision? His edge work? His size and strength? His speed? His ability to carry the puck and make plays? Other than wishful thinking I’m just curious what it is that you see?
I'm glad you asked. He looks as advertised. The only negative is the first step. Overall speed is not bad, decent shot, not afraid to go into the dirty areas. Size and strength should not be questioned, he looks all of ~6'0, 205 which is not close to small in the modern game. The worst part of the 2017 draft is that AZ didn't have the 5th OV instead of the 7th.

Who is going to be our future 1st or 2nd line center aside from Zib (or Hayes depending on which of the 2 is eventually traded).
This depends on where we select in the next 2 drafts. A lot of the best players coming out of the draft will be centers, and a few of the top picks next year (Byfield, Rossi) are also centers. I do think at least one moves to the wing however due to the emergence of Howden

Kravstov is the guy that stands out that can be the marner type of points producer. He’s that talented. The crown jewel as far as I’m concerned of the .org.

Chytil has the size skating vision and skills to be a beast. He needs to calm down around the net and work on his defending. All things I expect him to do as he gets older. I think he’s a future 60 pt plus guy maybe more. I just dont think he’s the elite 1C I think we need. I think he’d be a beast on a second line by the time he’s 21 22.

True, I wasn't thinking too far and the new players we will draft. If we draft a top center in this draft then anything can happen where players end up (Wing/Center).

Oh boy Smith laying eggs all over the ice tonight, he belongs in the AHL.

And Gorton should be canned for giving him that horrible contract :thumbd:

Don't worry, with that elite winger (Kravstov) on his line, Chytil will turn into a very nice 80 point player :D

I think Andersson has a really good shot, he just has to use it more.

He looks as advertised is not an answer man that literally means nothing. He was advertised as a future 3rd or 4th line Center.

So you’re report is bad first step not bad speed decent shot and not afraid to go into the dirty areas.

And I’m supposed to be excited about that? That’s supposed to translate to as you put it better than most of the elite prospects drafted after him? Sorry but this doesn’t pencil. No disrespect but it doesn’t it’s excuses and wishful thinking

I think Andersson has a really good shot, he just has to use it more.

So does Lettieri apparently. But you have to be good enough to get it off. He never gets those looks. I remember one real good look on Price who made the save easily. It’s certainly not a high end shot. It’s decent as e train said

I really can't blame Gorton for that signing. Smith was actually very good for this team when he came over from Detroit, especially against Montreal in the playoffs. We needed Dmen and he got just about market value at the time. Maybe a slight over payment but not by much.

Even then it was a couple seasons before Scheifele was a ppg center.

No one would call Chytil a bust at this age because it’s clear as day the skill size speed and talent he possesses. Lias you don’t see those things. It’s not as simple as their both 20 so they’re in the same boat. Well no they’re reallh not.

Everyone is all worked up, but I’m just kicking back knowing that everything is going to work out

It’s this teams destiny to win Hughes this year

And if not, they’ll still have a big draft with 3 first rounders taking Turcotte, Newhook and York

Book it

He's been able to do so at other levels and he isn't dumb like a bag of rocks like Letteri. I believe as time goes on he is going to get better with it, he is still just a rookie after all. Him and Chytil are still learning. Now do I think he has an elite shot, no, but I think its a good shoot.

Who are the proven elite forwards drafted after him? Pettersson is already elite but was 2 picks before. None of the forwards you mentioned are close to that, including Andersson.

Winnepeg has like eight guys who are genuinely frustrated when they go a game without scoring.

The Rangers have 20 guys who call their Mom when they get an assist.

"Ma? Yeah, it's Jimothy. I'm good. Yes, I'm eating my vegetables, ma. Ma! I got an assist tonight! The puck went off my butt before my teammate put it in the net. I know, right?! I'm very happy! I've made it, Ma! I've made it!"

All the guys he's mentioned are either still in junior, the AHL, or are in the NHL and not producing that much more the Lias. Gotta give it more time before rushing to conclusion and just deeming him a bust
