Lemme tell you a couple of three things: If we don't fix this defense, we're all in for a long year of agita.

It’s not happening this year. It’s going to take at two to three more years for the talent upgrade to be completed. Then comes the development at the NHL level. This is not something that gets immediately fixed.

Smith has blown two games. One in Detroit and this one tonight. He's a lazy bum. Too lazy to work out as a professional athlete. Too lazy to play 60 minutes of hockey when there's a 2-0 and 3-0 lead. He doesn't deserve another chance to be an NHL player. It's a lack of respect for the hard work of his teammates. It's a lack of respect for the management that signed him to a faith and belief contract. It's about time to waive him again.

He has to go. That dumbass penalty is what started their comeback.

I just really wanted to use the Sopranos quote, but I agree. We have exciting D prospects, we just have to be patient and we'll be alright.

It's a pleasure every time I get to watch the Jets skate in New York City, at Madison Square Garden no less. It's something I figured I'd never see again. You guys are all class, and the moniker the best fans in sports is well-deserved. Knowledgeable and passionate. It always brings a smile to my face to see Winnipeg up there on the same marquee as NYC.

Zibanejad is a really good player. Good luck with your season, however you wish it to turn out. Cheers.
Appreciate the kind words about the City. It deserves better sports

Go win the Cup so Washington won't :handclap:

That draft kind of...wasn't good. I maintain that the best player taken after Andersson was Chytil.

If we **** this draft up, which is absolutely loaded, that's a problem.

I don’t expect them to. They tried their damndest to trade up for Pettersson. They went for upside in Chytil, Kravtsov, Miller and Lundkvist. Gorton needs to get more than just one more upside talent player.

Give them the credit for getting Schiefele and Trouba when teams like Edmonton were screwing up getting 1st overall.
Absolutely. They did it the right way. Just saying from 2011-2016 4 top 10 picks (if you wanna count the Atlanta days 3 more top 10 picks from 2008-2010). Definitely tho give them credit for even mid/late first round picks like Connor and Roslovich

There were and are guys that you see drafted after him that you go yes he is 20 but you know he’s got the skill talent that he’s going to be a player when he develops. Vilardi Mittelstadt Suzuki Necas Rasmussen Brannstrom Liligren Robert Thomas all fall into that category as does Chytil who has a ways to go but it’s clear as day he has the tools. Lias literally has NONE. Not one thing he does at a high end level not one high end physical trait he possesses. It’s baffling the pick. Baffling for a franchise DESPERATE for elite skill

Pretty confident the way we're going that we're getting at least a top 10.

The only way you go into the top 10 of this draft and not get a potential stud center is, well, you have to pick Raphael Lavoie.

Anybody else has elite potential.

It sure is painful to be a Rangers fan right now.

I wish this season was over now so that we could look forward to a draft with whatever extra picks we get for Hayes, Zucc, Strome, McQuaid and Namestikov
I am wondering if he keeps playing like this and scoring at about .5 ppg maybe we could get something for him whereas we would have been lucky to get a 6th rounder for spooner. Maybe JG went the indirect route to get some assets for spooner when no GM was answering his calls regarding Spooner.

Thought Andersson actually had a decent game today
Weird for the person who loves to hate this guy to bring it up now

I’m not gonna say another word about him in this thread I promise. Just extremely disappointed that we blew another top pick. Just famous for never drafting elite forwards and we just threw another one in the bucket.

Anyway moving on

I’m sorry but I have no idea how any watches Lias Andersson and goes “man great pick at 7 especially considering we are desperate for high end talent. That kid has all the tools to be a 60 plus point player in his prime”.

The kid has zero tools zero. We just can not afford to not get game breaking talent drafting in the top 7 picks again. Cannot do it. We’re going to have that chance again this summer and I’m terrified at what we might do.

I’m sorry I don’t want to keep bringing it up but I can’t get over it. He shows nothing that makes you go yeah I see it. He just has to put it all together. He doesn’t have the skills the size the skating to actually put together.
Please give it a rest, you broken record.

Kid is 20 games into his career. It’s quite clear that you’ve made your mind up on him, good for you. No need to incessantly post about it to the rest of us saying the same crap over and over again. We get it, you think he was a bad pick at 7.

Then most likely that’s our guy. Clark already has him circled in red pen.

But there was nobody else.

It's not like Tarasenko was on the board like in 2010 or the 2010 Canadian National Team was on the board like in 2003.

For real can’t they throw Andersson on Mika’s line

They were great during the worlds in the summer. What’s the hurt in putting them together
