Obviously the team made bad plays throughout the game but I can’t help but feel like Kinkaid lost this one with that stupid pass.
The biggest problem with this team besides the coach is Mika. If he was just average instead of 4th line quality this team could be close to playoff position. Thats where the real blame lies instead of blaming two 19 yo players.
I don’t think anyone is blaming the 19 year olds for the team being bad. Everyone is upset that the team is bad AND the 19 year olds show nothing. We were hoping for one of those things to not be true this year. Having both thrown in your face day in and day out is demoralizing.
I think I'm a full convert now. You can shoot Quinn into an active volcano. I don't care anymore lol.

Yep. And this is why so many people are going back to the Senators well over and over this year. The Sens are a bad team, but they are being led by all of their young players, so if you’re a Sens fan you can’t help but be excited about the future. This is what I was going to say. I don’t think anyone’s blaming the kids. If they are they shouldn’t be. We’re disappointed with the way they’ve performed relative to expectations, but also mostly attribute it to the coaching.
I also agree that Mika is the next biggest concern after Quinn right now. 100%. But yeah, I don’t think people are blaming the kids. Just frustrated. If the kids were tearing it up and the team was losing, I think it would at least be entertaining and provide us hope. If the kids were struggling but the team overall was looking like last year offensively, I think that’d be palatable. It’s the lack of either that makes everyone grouchy.
I don't think the Rangers score even if the OT was 10 min long. They were timid to do anything even when the flyers three were completely exhausted (except for Panarin).Obviously the team made bad plays throughout the game but I can’t help but feel like Kinkaid lost this one with that stupid pass.
Yep and we use the excuse of bad goaltending the Sens surely could use that excuse as well for many many of their games.Yep. The Rangers right now are being carried by their veteran group and still losing. Perhaps that implies that once (if) the kids do come around, the support they will provide to the vets already consistent performance will be enough to propel the team to winning. It just doesn’t feel like that’s how this is shaping up though.

Bad part is that is Gorton hesitates on firing Quinn it could prevent us from ever getting to the point of being ready to compete. A bad coach in a rebuild could lead to the team being so bad and prospects busting and
players struggling and poor player evaluation and then you end up as Edmonton or Buffalo in perpetual rebuilds.
I am confused about the idea that a defender needs to be out there 3 on3 in ot?
I get it if it's Fox or the one who will not be named, yet the defender ends up way up ice, even behind the other teams net, would it really be a bad idea if it were 3 forwards?
Yep this is a huge concern of mine. I fear Quinn’s leash is longer to begin with because of this.Quinn is Gorton's hand picked coach, he won't admit his mistake.
I guess there may be 2 on 1's many times, yet still that defenders chance of being the defender on that play seems to be at best ~33%.Ya Mika was playing defense as the man back on that 3 on 3 for the first minute while Trouba was globetrotting behind the Flyers net.

Other teams are trying it and you’re right unless Fox is out there what’s the point. Trouba is worthless 3 on 3. Miller has some decent speed I guess but this coach would never try something like thatI am confused about the idea that a defender needs to be out there 3 on3 in ot?

He made some timely saves but we couldn't overcome that 1st period.Gotta give props to Kinkaid for stopping 2 breakaways and getting us a point honestly. Nice to see a save on a breakaway. Also, I'm counting down the days until Quinn's Ranger tenure is under .500 and he gets sent to the moon. This guy is out of his depth. The flyers absolutely embarrassed us on the PP. So much more chemistry and fluidity. I saw AV's record with the Flyers- something like 51-30, and then Quinn's stupid face comes on my screen and I see 80-78-10 and i just shook my head.

Just a poorly coached team. Kakko benched for the entire OT? Our greatest forward prospect in 100 years and you just bench him for no reason?
That's fine, at least Kakko or Laf will be in theirs. We have never had problems attracting big ticket FAs.
Now that you mentioned it not Having DeAngelo and Fox tonight really hurt us, DeAngelo was one of the best in the league last year on the power play and was very effective in overtime 3 x 3. I think he had 2 game winners last year in OT. He gets fired for saying Quinn is not a NHL caliber coach and criticizes Georgiev for having a bad game. He is just repeating what is said on this forum after each game.Go away, Tony.
