The slower and more patient approach with less turnover and inserting Danny boy, prob a bubble team again:

if their source is real its like people are saying prob about petry , though ide be SHOCKED if he was re signed .
but another thought i had is maybe yzermans decided not to sign any ufa because with the cap raise all the better ufa going to get big coin that yzerman doesnt want to pay because were not ready to contend yet . and the avaliable dmen arent anybody going to seriously improve team long term , with both wallinder n buium looking to have a chance to be better by 2026/27 anyway . wallinder probably coming up to start next season as hes physically ready and a great skater that might really improve as he becomes more mentally developed , like is said dmen take longer . so just save the future cap til window opens when prospects start being ready . its an outlook ide agree with as i couldnt care less about making playoffs with a non contender next season . plus missing once again improves draft spot . and i find enjoyment in the prospects like kasper n edvinnson (plus a bunch in lower leagues) developing even when teams not real good . weve got a great elite core now in seider / raymond / edvinsson with kasper and a bunch of others looking fantastic . speaking of that i wouldnt doubt another possible reason for not signing ufa is that buchelnikov has told yzerman he will sign to play in the nhl next season . with dannyson n lombardi projected to be coming up next mid season
