23 more pts in the last 3 seasons... you'd think hed have 100 more pts. Yes I know you can't only evaluate on pts , again it's not much. That's just your take, I'm sure alot of ppl around the league would say hes better. Not many would say hes far much better

No one ever said they were the same player. Your also making him out to be more special than he is. Dallas got rantanen signed and got 2 1sts and stankoven. 1st + nygaard is essentially 2 1sts throw in a plante +johansson or kiiskinen whatever, and a 2nd if need be its essentially the same offer

Again no team is offering up a raymond seider edvinsson type roster player for pastrnak. Nobody.... nobody is offering a #1level prospect like asp in a deal . Nobody...teams that would get him they're #1 prospect wouldn't be as good as a rebuilding teams

Sure the cap is going up but Marner isn't giving them a hometown discount. If the Leafs give him top money, 16 mil or more, they can't have much left to ice a complete roster.

If I'm Yzerman I pay whatever it takes knowing it will be an overpayment.

Teams are, without a doubt, offering prospects like ASP for a 27yo top 10 player in the NHL.

That’s ridiculous to say otherwise. Even more ridiculous to say Stankoven isn’t an A level prospect, he has been rated that by about every ranking out there.

While I agree that I'd rather get two guys at the prices you losted. This is Detroit. They will have to overpay. Rantenen just set the market.he got 8 yrs 12 mil. Marner is a better player and more teams will be bidding driving g the price up.

I think marner gets 7 years 14 mil at least. Mcdavid might get 20 mil when his deal is up.

Well I'd hope we're not the suckers to overpay him then. And I'm sorry but if mcdavid gets 20 mill the Oilers will never win a cup. They can't even afford decent goaltending now

Trust me I wish there was no salary cap then I wouldn't care but you can't give a single player 20 mill and expect to win.Too many roster players to fill up

He comes here at 12.5 then raymond edvinsson seider will get over that next contracts 100%. Anyways I do think the tide is turning

I think its next year we'll start turning things around and 26-27 we'll be a top team. Would have been nice to add a McKenna next year, always seems we get a top 10 pick in the worst drafts of late

We will see with Marner.
But that has got to be an absolute slap in the face to him personally if they formally requested he waive his NTC.

He has been a great professional and taken all the fans and media constantly turning him into a whipping boy. But now the organization itself says they would have been better without him?

I turned the presser off, but did Steve say he wants to run 3 goalies again next season? Talbot/Petr/Cossa, and waive or trade the underperformer between Talbot and Petr.

I got the picture that Wings start with Talbot & Mrazek next season unless Cossa has great AHL playoffs(probably meaning championship win), great off season training and great training camp. Then underperformer is gone, so Cossa most likely starts in GR. I guess Augustine stays in NCAA, 26-27 Cossa in Detroit full time and Augustine in GR.

He talked about how important is to get minutes for all the goalies. And also mentioned how poor goalie market is in the summer, thats why wanted Mrazek and sounds like Lyon is not getting re-signed.

Bruins are clearly tanking and in rebuild mode... wondering what it would take for pastrnak

Nygaard is one of our better prospects,plante was a 2nd rounder producing ... johansson has been one of our better dmen besides the obvious big 2

Nobody is going to give up 2 top end prospects, a really good younger roster player + whatever else your thinking

Not saying that specific proposal I wrote would get it done but I think it would be something similar

No team would offer a roster player like raymond edvinsson seider for pastrnak. A #1 prospect like asp .... you'll get a minten,Cowan type prospect from a top end team

Anyways it's just talk I can't see bruins dealing pastrnak for at least another 1-2 years unless he demands to be out

It would take ASP + Danielson + 2 1sts at a bare minimum. Stankoven is a proven NHL asset and Rantanen is not a good as Pastrnak.

I honesty don’t know what you’re on about. The two Rantanen trades alone disprove your statements. Stankoven is a better prospect than ASP and just got traded for Rantanen. Necas is putting up better numbers than Raymond and jsut got traded for Rantanen. Pastrnak is even better than that.

Because he hasn't been able to land a big fish. We Been in on pettersson and cozens so we're clearly trying make a big move

There’s nothing to disagree on. YOU may not think Stankoven was an A level prospect, but he was on every single list available, including many being above ASP
