After that Seattle trade what are the chances we can trade a chiarot at 50% combined with tarasenko for a 1st +?

Probably slim to none haha be nice to add another 1st we can use in a trade for someone who's not a waste or space
This is kind of how I feel about the Red Wings right now. Hopefully... it doesn't drag out much longer, last year was fun but ultimately painful and felt like a waste even though I was entertained most nights.

They're quickly falling back to their old ways from earlier in the year.

IDK how much is or isn't Yzerman's fault for not ever helping the guys on the roster out with a trade to get over the hump. The players aren't exactly doing themselves favors.

It's almost like they needed another player or two to help get them through the season. Maybe via trade.

And it tends to happen right around this time of year. Almost like it's a deadline.

A trade or two...at the deadline...

Trade... deadline...

I know it’s not popular, but I really would look at moving Larkin if the package is good enough. If you can get a guy like Johnston back plus some other prospects I feel like you do that. His leadership should be called into question, we can only see the team wilt in big games so many times. I love Larkin I really do, but he is aging out. We have some tough decisions to make.

Sell any assets you can. Do something for once Yzerman, besides giving away one of your best defensemen.
He didn't give away one of his best defenseman. He paid to give him away...

I would want more than that...

I think Yzerman's seat might be warm now. If we miss the playoffs and we don't buy OR sell then wtf are we doing? Commit to a side man!!!!

Even if we do make a trade, I don’t trust this horrible pro scouting team in our FO to acquire someone who can actually make a difference. I’m terrified of giving up good assets for that reason. We can’t have anymore of guys like tarasenko, holl etc holding us down. If we add someone they need to actually be positive assets, not just negative players we will have to pay to get rid of.

I said that like 2 years ago and how he wouldn't be the one to lead us to the promise land and ppl went ballistic lol

That being said he has a nmc so hes not going anywhere at least until the last 2 years of his deal

I'm all for just trading Tank, Kane and Lyon.

Bring up Lombardi, Danielson and Cossa.

Söderblom-Larkin-Raymond
Debrincat-Compher-Kasper
Lombardi-Rasmussen-Danielson

Is the team better? No, but it's time to pull the plug on these vets. Kane is pretty much a negative 5on5, and he's supposed to be a leader and take up top-6 minutes?

This is a 100% a overaction, I know. But I just can't stand seeing Tank and Kane barely engage when it's all on the line.

I wonder oh many plan C or D's we have on this team because players don't wanna come here. It's not like 2002.

Not trying to give Yzerman and such an excuse for the bad pickups but just was thinking on it.

we had to attach a 2nd to trade Walman

San Jose just got a first to trade him

question 1, what are your thoughts on this?
question 2, what do you realistically expect from fans right now?

It’s embarrassing. For me at least, it’s disgraceful because SY never explained the ‘why’ behind it. Nor did any credible rumor come out explaining why he did that. The only credible rumor was about other teams being confused as to why they weren’t contacted, saying they would’ve traded tangible assets for him.

If we remove the name Steve Yzerman from the conversation, at surface level, this looks even more like a lazy and irrational front office move.
