You think faceoffs are all that go into playing center? Faceoffs are pretty inconsequential in relation to all of their defense responsibilities and what they are asked to do in transitioning play from offense to defense.

He's more of a center than Veleno or Ras..

I actually wouldn’t hate this. Yes he is in a similar mold to Copp and Compher, but going into next year if we can get a legit 2C I wouldn’t hate copp-pageau-Compher as a shutdown line against tough matchups.

If we got him one of copp or compher have to be gone next season. Too many players coming and we can't have a 3rd line consisting of those 3 guys and putting soderblom etc.. on a 4th line

I'm all for cozens/Pettersson as 2c but If we got pageau and compher stayed danielson would be 4c which I think wouldn't be a good thing. He needs to play

Which is why I'd put him 2c if pageau was here ... anyways if we got him I don't think we can keep all 3 unless we're ok with keeping 1 or 2 of them on the 4th line but that's a lot of .money

Christian Dvorak was also one name mentioned... for defensive duties.

He has also good history at Faceoff dot.

I'm ok with a rental if it's a 4th to 6th rounder. Don't think mtl can demand alot for him

Berggren for Nyquist swap but with extra pieces going each way? Straight swap doesn't make much sense since having similar production but a 10 year age gap unless its part of something larger. Not like anyone has any real idea what Yzerman is even interested in doing...

Has he actually fallen off this much? Or is it a product of playing for the dysfunctional NYR organization? Because it seems like Miller and Fox are also having down years, and I find it hard to believe 3 of their 6 defenseman have all hit walls at the same time.

Larkin is about the only relevant center we have on this team - just won't win too many important games with Veleno etc... hope SY can get one more relevant piece for 2C - Not sure Danielson is that guy a couple more years.

If we get Karlsson, we'd be pretty decent on the blue line. I wouldn't mind an 2D upgrade on the left side, but I'm sure almost all the teams feel that way.

To make our team more balanced?? Hes been great no doubt and we know it works so they can always go back... the thing is next season if we added someone on the right side and pellika made his debut we'd have no choice

I like carlo, if we can add him now I'd put him 3rd pair and balance the pairs... if we got him and asp came

Because someone else could be an upgrade now, and waiting for a player to develop goes against the Veruca Salt way of thinking nowadays.
