Well with Kaliyev and Sprong on waivers over the last couple days, its clear that THIS is why you draft the high floor low ceiling guys like Rasmussen, Kasper, and Danielson early on in the draft. Guys with elite goal scoring skills can be had at a dime a dozen in free agency.

I'd bring Sprong back if they were doing a package deal for an upgrade... if you're moving 2 or 3 roster players in exchange for 1, bring Sprong back cheap. Bring up some grit from AHL. Call it a day on the forward group for now.

Usually I’m not high on any prospect. Even guys like ASP I try to temper my expectations.

Buch, however has massive potential. I think his biggest question mark is his defense and his skating could be a worked on too apparently.

But if he develops properly and ends up in NA… I could see as a Kaprizov-lite.

He’s not to expensive. According to Puck pedis, 975K, and it may be only a % of that that since we are in Jan.

Don't think he's a game changer, and wouldn't mess with what's working for now. He's very one dimensional, don't think current staff would like him.

Idk, if rumors of a tear down in Pittsburgh are real, I'd throw a protected 1st or 2nd+Holl/Petry/something at them for Pettersson. Dudes rock solid, and would be an upgrade on the 2nd pair over Chiarot.

We can't move those guys for that deal.... they're part of our package to land Elias Petterson. Do I even need to add the sarcasm emoji?

Outside Cossa There is no one in our core is potential first line player and if we could have big upgrade , we should consider. It's all depends on return. Larkin , Raymond, Ed and Cossa should not be available, everyone else ?

Friedman on his podcast said Karmanos from Buffalo has been at more Detroit games which is unusual for him. Friedman said he had been told that before the trade freeze something was close but he’s not sure where things stand today.

with how this team has turned around since McLellan took over, I have to think some guys who we saw as throw aways (Veleno, Ras, Berggren) probably have more value now. If a deal is made, it'll be something to see if Yzerman can leverage the better play of some of these guys into an unexpected deal.

According to swedish media we're scouting Viktor Lodin from Färjestad in the SHL. Us and St Louis have been on a lot of Färjestad's games to watch him.

A very talented player who suffered drug addiction and mental health issues in the past but who have bounced back this season and is one of the SHLs best players.
