  • Xenforo Cloud upgraded our forum to XenForo version 2.3.4. This update has created styling issues to our current templates, this is just a temporary look. We will continue to work on clearing up these issues for the next few days and restore the site to it's more familiar look, but please report any other issues you may experience so we can look into. Yeah hope they get the theme fixed and returned back to normal soon. I don't hate the default theme vehemently but the old felt nicer (I'm oldschool anyways, so more text and condensed reading is preferred).

Now, if this update also actually helps the site perform better and not get bogged down with ads if you're not a sponsor, that'd be great.
 
Oh yeah btw, anybody else find it suspicious that the NHL.com videos and game recaps were not available last night/today until recently - exactly at the same time as the HFB update took the site down? Conspiracy, I tell you. Only logical conclusion is that HFB is secretly run by Bettman.

(To be specific, videos did work, but they did not upload new ones, so e.g. the Chicago-Colorado game only had the first one or two goal videos up, and the rest was nowhere to be found. The games also only had "Gamecenter" available, no recaps. They fixed it some hours ago, right around the time HFB had the maintenance message showing after the original database error messages... Very suspicious.)

Been so busy on the mains that I forgot to check in on my home forum. Mea culpa.

Here's where this is all being discussed:
(@CBJWerenski8 and @Double-Shift Lasse, there's also a mods thread about it which you can probably easily find)

Short version: it's our hosting provider's "fault" and is being actively worked on. We got force-updated to a newer version of the Xenforo software, and while ownership saw it coming, site admins didn't (because ownership didn't tell anyone, bravo to them). But it wouldn't have mattered because Xenforo Cloud doesn't provide a way to test and see what impact such an upgrade will have on your collected add-ons, so there wasn't much of a way to head this off in advance in any case. So everybody's caught off guard scrambling.

I'm trying to assist where I can since I also "own" a Xenforo Cloud site and so know some of the issues, but I've been limited mostly to just providing info where possible.

Having run a couple of smaller vBulletin/phpBB sites with custom themes and even a XenForo (that we didn't modify much because of these kind of issues lol), I feel your collective pain. :D Coupled with the amount of users here, it must be a madhouse. Cheers, good luck getting through it all in one piece. Hopefully most folks understand when they read the reasons behind the update and issues.

The key issue with this sentiment is "when they read". ;)
 
It's ostensibly tied to the default in your OS - if your OS theme is dark, HF will be dark. That's how it's supposed to operate, anyways.
You're awesome, thanks! I use Firefox to see this site on mobile and Chrome for everything else so I forgot that.
 
Not on mobile.
You may have to re-favorite the Jackets page. I've had that happen before and I just opened the Jackets page and saved it as a new favorite and it worked. Mine still opens to the Jackets page on mobile, my desktop opens the the main page, like it did before the update.
