As such, would you take on Bobrovsky if the Panthers add to him to get rid of him? At the very least I'd want Wilmer Skoog in that trade just because of his name.

I think you buy Jarry out after the year because you don't want to risk him being a malcontent in WBS and poisoning young players against the organization. You're better off going with someone like Larsson as your AHL starter/NHL call-up than Jarry.

KD came in with MS at the helm and already had an extension in place not for the same season but the following one. I mean I don't want to make excuses for the guy, but it's kind of hard for him to come in and tell the owners pay the guy 6 more years cause he isn't my guy. Now, it's going to have been 2 full seasons, I expect the talks to get serious. But at the end of the day, we have no idea what's going on back stage and if FSG will give KD the green light to pay 10+ million of salaries for 2 coaches over the next 4-5 years..

Isn't Yohe, albeit sparsely, criticizing Sullivan from time to time now? Once the cracks appear in that boot licking dam, that's signs of the end imo.

He is having a very good year, definitely his name should be out there to see what kind of return we could possibly get. With the cap going up big time over the next 3 years, he can be a solid add for a team that's contending now. He will be turning 32 in May and has 3 more seasons. I wouldn't trade him for a 2nd round pick for say, but if a team is willing to give up a 1st + I'd definitely move him. I'm not so sure he will keep repeating this kind of season going forward over the next 3 years. We can use that money in UFA or the assets in trades to get some younger players like we seem to want to target 23-24 year olds.

Yeah that is both using Malkin appropriately (winger with Crosby) and also cashes in on Rakell having a great year. Definitely what they should be doing if they decide to trade Rakell.

Just another reason to trade Rakell while his value's probably as high as it'll ever be. Even if all you can get is a 2nd, I do that all day and don't even think twice.
