I can’t believe these f***ing losers would put Jarry on waivers. I mean, he was the biggest f***ing loser of all, but only f***ing losers move on from their problems instead of whining how any save with any degree of difficulty is unfair to ask a goaltender making millions of dollars a year to stop. f***ing losers.

Mush still needs better quality ice than the ECHL. Send Tristan ALL the way down.

Jarry will just love glaring at his teammates in Wheeling after he gives up an utter muffin from some guy who was unloading trucks in Salmon Arm this time last year.

Honestly with Jarry definitely being on the outs, I'd probably do this as well. Why send him to WBS to take ice time from Murashov?

Send him to the AHL and make him their 3rd goalie or send him to Wheeling.

This isn't even a Jarry specific thing, but a NHL wide thing: do not pay mediocre goalies.

Jarry is another guy in that Campbell/Merzlikins/Petersen/Grubauer group that got paid despite not being good enough to get paid, and the deal ended up terrible halfway through it. I bet Blackwood is the next guy in this group.

They'll probably keep him stashed in the AHL for the rest of the year and buy him out in the off-season.

They'll run with Nedjelkovic and Blomqvist with Larsson as the AHL call-up.
100%. After this year, he will have 3yrs at $5.25mil left. Looking at the goalie market, it's still bleak. I wonder if there's a team out there that needs a goal that doesn't want to pay the next Blackwood or Georgiev that MIGHT be interested in taking Jarry if we retain a bit. Retaining $1.25mil to drop him to $4mil with the cap going up isn't outrageous when you consider Blackwood just got a $5.25mil x 5yr contract.

f***. Ing. Oof.

I was only KINDA joking. It would be "disrespectful" at least if we're keeping up with the decorum usually granted in these circumstances.

But seriously who cares with this guy? And what does it matter... they are obviously done with him and nobody outside of an utter lunatic is gonna willingly unburden the Penguins of this albatross around their neck.

I actually DO feel bad for people who are fans of a player going through THESE kinds of struggles.

But like... ya'll backed the wrong pony. Why with this guy? He's never done one thing of (positive) note.

Also also... this DOES prove that the Penguins aren't serious about a rebuild. Jarry is the ultimate tank commander. You couldn't custom build a player that is better at shitting the bed.

Yeah I get that everyone has their favorites and it's not always logical. I loved Tyler Kennedy and dude was pretty mid af ultimately though I do think he had a great run for a year or two with the Cooke-Staal line.

But TJ always infuriated me not just because he sucked but because he never took responsibility for it in post game interviews either. Ned owns it when he has a shitty game. TJ never does.

Never wanted him to be re-signed.
Amen to that.
I mean I think we can say at this point that the Penguins should have never let MAF get away

The shitshow goaltending they've gotten since 2017 makes me feel it's fairly clear they made the wrong decision with going with Murray over Fleury.
Maybe, but remeber all the playoffs years we lost because of MAF's meltdowns in the playoffs. We just had won 2 cups with Murray, but yeah, if there was a way to tell the future, we could have sold high on Murray and kept MAF.

A serious org gets rid of Jarry after 2021 instead of pretending he had the pedigree of a MAF that was worth rehabilitating.

A-f***ing-men

It's nice that they seem to have finally thrown in the towel but it's wild to me to think back to some of the utter bumblef***ing this guy did in the playoffs just for Dubas to be like "yup he seems like the guy... toss him the bag."

"It's the team" lol.

His buyout is kinda mediocre. You basically save 3.5M in one year then very little over the next 2. Then 800k cap hit for 3 more years after that.

Kinda makes more sense to keep him hostage in WBS but maybe not from a logistical standpoint.

typically I just feel bad for players when it’s come to this. But it’s extraordinarily difficult to feel that way about Jarry.
He's getting paid millions to perform, he hasn't done that past January for years now and completely fell apart from puck drop this season.

He does not have any sympathy from me.

I wonder how much this is actually going to help. Jarry is a huge issue, but id argue equally is the quality of chances the Penguins hemorrhage almost every night. The next guy is going to have to face a 2on1 the first 2 minutes of the game, and have opposing players posted up at the goal mouth untouched. I dont think its coincidence that all 3 goalies have numbers that are damn near identical.

At this point moving on from TJ had to be done as it isn't working for him or the team. This will allow them to trade him w/ retained money to a team that can put him in the minors without waivers.
