I do not want Minten on the 4th line, I want to see this kid a legit shot, I am more impressed than any young player they have, and take that as I think he should be Pasta's center. I do like what I see so far, he has some good awareness out on the ice. I thought he played well in his first game, not so much in his second game, but last night he looked solid.
You watched him play three games and now you're putting him at 1C?

I see what you see. This guy seems like a young blossoming skill player to me. I don’t know why so many good knowledgeable fans are so low on him. Yes he has to get stronger and smarter. That’s normal for a player his age. If anything he’s shown excellent maturity so why doubt his future growth.

We shall see.
Yea I don’t get the hate. Poitras was like .5 ppg his first year pro. He’s young, his brain and body have plenty of time to mature. He is creative, has some skill, has speed. There was hardly any system/coach/leadership in place this year. By 2030 he’s probably going to have a couple of 50 point years under his belt or better. He could start in PVD next year and still become a great NHLr

I like your optimism, do you really like the player

I do not know nearly enough about any of the prospects to have an opinion on who they should take. I'd like them to get the bpa that also best fits their needs. Is that Misa, Hagens, McQueen, etc etc? I don't know. I just hope whoever they get is good for us and they don't select a bust.

I wouldn't mind the kid and Poitras and Merkulov getting some time with him at this point in the season. A good reward for their work and a chance to see what they can do with the best line mate in the world.
Oh yeah - I think Minten was a great add. And maybe we see that in the Calder Cup. It just looked like Ol' Hook was putting him up top already lol.

I think 3 C is just a perfect spot for him, for the 4th line, I`d have little issues with a Koepke (if they re-sign), Lauko/Kastelic line, speed, physical..I don`t want a player with the skill of a Minten on the 4th either

The top 2 in the draft are now clearly Schaefer first as the only standout D and Misa, who has separated himself from the forward pack.

That leaves Martone, who would make a great Bruin, Hagens and Frondell, IMO. If we get Frondell at 5 we will be very fortunate. He’d easily be our best prospect skater since McAvoy. He is a centre with great hands, release and IQ. A perfect fit for Lindholm’s to mentor.

To mentor into what? How to play softly and at about 80% effort. I want to like Elias because he says the right things, but I do not see the right things on the ice.

Between our cap space (27M?) and draft capital (4th OA this morning) it’s pretty exciting to think about how quickly things can change and turn around. If we get a career year or close from Sway and 80 games of Hampus and McAvoy as #1 pair we’re back in the playoffs with a couple key signings. This whole “rebuild” could be like a midnight run through Walmart. No one even saw it happen! lol

Only problem with Lindholm is his offensive ability to create plays. If he was a 4-5 mill third line center he would be considered a great reliable center. But he is paid like a first line center and has underperformed as that.
7.75 is not 1C money that’s below average 2C salary these days.

1C 9 mil +
2C 7s/8s
3C 4s-6s
Etc

If he rebounds to a 60~ pt pace and remains a top penalty killer with some PP time it’s not an overpay by any stretch.

He takes to many big hits, and have seen nothing that shows me he has the ability that he deserves the raves he is getting. He is a nice player when he has room, he has nice hands, and see the ice pretty well, but I see nothing else that shows me he is nhl player. I will say I hope he does bulk up like you say, and especially for safety's sake.
He has vision, a nice shot, good defensive instincts. Poitras is a beauty.

What do you base base these assertions on? Elias Lindholm is the 31st highest paid center in the NHL right now according to a quick scan of the league's top salaries.

He also has the Bruins 5th most PK time and has the worst shorthanded GA/60 on the team aside from Lohrei and the ghost of Hampus Lindholm, so I'm not sure how he's remaining a "top" anything.
