Boston Bruins 24-25 Roster/Cap thread XVIII ( if trades occur use specific trade thread)

My best case scenario returns:
Beecher for a 5th
Brazeau for a 3rd
Korpisalo for a 3rd or 4th
Carlo for a 1st and solid prospect or two.
Marchand same as Carlo
Coyle for a 2nd and prospect or 2-2nds
Geekie for a 1st and 2nd
Zacha for a 1st and good prospect
Swayman if a team really thinks he can turn it around for 1st, NHL goalie and prospect

Zacha is good value as well for what he brings. Not untouchable, but far down the list of guys I'd consider moving out.

And the fact he's tight with Pasta matters. It's not the hill to die on but it's a factor. Especially if we see some long-standing Bruins leave like Marchand, Coyle, Frederic, maybe Carlo.
Seems pretty clear to me at the moment but they are not going to trade Brad in season. Perhaps this summer, but I expect a deal.

Felger and Mazz this AM talked about a report from Kypreos that the door is open in Colorado for Crosby and Marchand to go to them at the deadline. Supposedly it is on the players to approve it.

I would love this for the Cole Harbour fantastic 3. Make it happen but bruins better be getting back something good!

Geekie i'm so torn on.

I was really harsh on him as a lot of people were but he earned my respect and adoration when he did a hard 180 and became arguably the Bruins second best forward.

He's awesome. Solid shot, defensively responsible, one of those swiss army knife guys that can play anywhere in your top 9 and not look out of place along with being a decent piece on the power play. Rich man's Rich Peverley.

But at the same time, his stats give me pause. Multiple guys beat me to this point but he's shooting at 17%, up dramatically from his 12.9 career mark. His 23/24 indicates while this is probably unsustainable, it's not dramatically so given he scored 17 on 13.1%. Could he be a legitimate 20 goal guy? Probably considering he missed like five or six games last year too.

So the question is do you sell high knowing full well his talents likely do jack shit to actually help you going forward or do you keep him and keep on keeping on hoping for a rebound year for the squad?

At this point i think i would be okay with either, assuming you can get a decent package back.

EA Sports NHL 25 lol!
The true NHL 25 way is to tear it down, get a couple years in and then get mad as your team makes zero progress so you go out and trade for McDavid.

I was listening to Marty Biron on NHL radio today and well not Buffalo but he did say he would much rather be Anaheim moving forward, than Boston. Funny how he just threw Boston out there out of the 31 teams, he could pick from.
Sounds to me as if Marty isn't that far off in his assessment though. The B's obviously could stand to bolster their lineup & farm system with some proper top 6/elite talent (forward wise at least) among other things.

Shocking take by Biron. A team that's sucked forever has a brighter future than a team that's been at the top of the league for 15 years.

Fair enough. Not that shocking imho. What team has the better trajectory as of now, moving forward? The B's 15 yr run has been solid, yet it isn't walking through that door today and may take a bit to reach the upper echelon again if cards aren't being played right. We'll see.
