Boston Bruins 24-25 Roster/Cap thread XVIII ( if trades occur use specific trade thread)

I don't disagree that Merkulov didn't do anything to make them say he has to be here... but I do think they are making a mistake sending him down. Lots of players stumble out of the gate. Even the great Brad Marchand didn't register a point for his first 20 games.

To me, Merkulov looked like a guy who, once he settled down, would start producing. He did some good things defensively stealing pucks and backchecking, and he had some chances, those will start to go in if he's given time.

Maybe there's some other reason for the swap? Like someone is interested in Tufte?
As you know Merkulov has to be on the Providence roster by Friday to qualify for the AHL playoffs. Providence has a good team and could go a long way. Merkulov is a key player there and will benefit by being involved.

It’s also possible that he can end up back in Boston soon for more NHL development.

Basically the same information posted above by zaYG—sorry but I didn’t see that post before sending this one.

Poitras could also use a playoff run in Providence to sharpen his game even more for next season.

Poitras should be on that team too. Give him some good minutes and a playoff push to develop rather than zombie time that the rest of the year will be in Boston.

When was the last game Poitras has found the back of the net, 21-22 games ago ? At this point I have to think his time may be better served in Providence.

If they are going to give him the sort of shit on the wing he has been getting, why not? Then again, it's probably good for his development at this point to play in as many NHL games as he can. He'll get to play in Providence for their playoff run.

Did you just read the headline or watch the clip? “It is real, the only thing stopping it is them (Crosby Marchand) deciding”
If that is true, I hope we get a good return.

If Marchy goes out to Colorado with SId, our Captain is not coming home in July.

If he did, I’d call him and ask him if he was ok and not having severe dizzy spells.

Colorado only has about 3 million in cap..Hmmmmm

There will be buyers for our guys. They having down year yes, but a good chunk of these guys were on the record setting team two years ago. Some GMs will think they can rekindle a player and will take a gamble
It's great time to sell with mostly buyers.Sweeney better not get cents on dollar..

Lets gooooooo. C'mon, Avs. DO IT.
That 26 or 2027 Colorado 1st better be part of it if this happens

Felger and Mazz this AM talked about a report from Kypreos that the door is open in Colorado for Crosby and Marchand to go to them at the deadline. Supposedly it is on the players to approve it.
