If Sam Bennett makes it to July 1st I find it hard to believe that Don Sweeney won't take a run at him. And he should.
Wow a lot of likes here. I pass on Bennet. He’s often injured and not the best skater. I don’t see a long term deal aging well.

He’s more of the same we have here (although better to a degree). I see a team like Buffalo or Philly getting really involved.

I like Ehlers more than Bennet based on what the Bruins need, not in general though.

Bennett is overrated and will be greatly overpaid.

The Bruins need more than another middle six center especially one often injured.

For these reasons he will be a Boston Bruin.

I agree they need more and they would still need another top end forward to slot behind Pasta. I like Bennett to me he is one of the more unique players in the game. Reminds me of Gary Roberts, neither were really large players but didn't back down. If there is a concern it's how his 6'0 190 lb. frame holds up over time.

He's not priority No.1 (at least he shouldn't be). I do think Sweeney will try to sign him as a UFA if he gets there. This is a front office that drooled over Elias Lindholm for two years.

Friedman said something interesting in his podcast today about the Tkachuks role this tourny elevating the likelihood of Tom Wilson locking into the Olympics out of association of player style.

As the pendulum tilts more towards skills over the last decade or more, the grit players have the memorable moments and “it” factor that managers pine for. It’s why Jeannot got a haul despite being incredibly mediocre.

Despite his woes this year, I think the Tkachuks just helped us a little on Frederic’s trade value this deadline. Freddy is obviously not Tom Wilson, but in the same vein. It may be something that stays in the minds of GMs the next two weeks when they are shopping. Just a nice little positive thought to hold onto coming out of the tournament.

It’d be great if some team got horned up for Frederic after watching the bash brothers in this tourney. Watching the Tkachuk’s this past week makes me think less of Frederic’s game. The grease comes naturally for them, with Frederic it’s forced. He’s a poser. He skates around with that silly smirk on his face after scrums. Take a 2nd and run

The fact you are putting fred in the same category as the Tkachuk's is a you problem not freds.

Not even close to the same players. Bruins fans made up Freddy being a tough guy in their own heads because he beat Tanev's ass?

That Poser is our best trade chip

While I agree Winnipeg isn't exactly my favorite city, actually, I kind of dislike it, they're only there half the year. It kind of depends if you want to win vs want to live somewhere nice for half the year, lol.
My child has had upwards of 25 snow days this year at school. I’ve only seen the colors grey and white for 4 months now.

If you paid me millions to slap a puck around for half the year I’d do it in a desert. Naked. No sunscreen. I miss the sun. Is cabin fever permanent?

I've been living in the north for 26 years now, never once had a snow day or a day where it was "too cold" - We've had days of -50, -60 too. Mind you they're rare as hell.

The east coast gets them a lot because it just dumps like 90 feet of snow in a 24 hour period, which I understand, haha.

I said vein, didn’t say they were the same players. Not sure where I said Fred had a problem either, just that it’s clearly not his year. And saying someone is a made up tough guy despite constantly displaying that his entire career as someone getting in fights, chirping, and using his body as such defaults him towards that scope.

But yes, in your words the Tkachuks, Tom Wilson, and Frederic are most certainly in the same category, but more accurately, the same column, and thus, different tiers of players. They can have their own nuances, but they are power forwards with chips on their shoulders…

I don’t disagree there, though I would add that over the past couple years, they’ve tried to move Freddy away from the attention and extracurriculars. You’ve heard it as much internally/externally, and seen it by who is brought into the roster. Feel like he’s better when he able to muck it up.

Regardless, it’s time to move on.

I was not quoting you, but thanks
