I want Don Sweeney to trade for Zac Jones on the Rangers.

Their organization seems to hate him and I've always liked his skills coming out of UMass. He should come cheap.

If Marchand goes to Vegas I gotta believe he’s re-signing there. Better positioned to win now. No state income tax. Butch is the coach. Versus riding shotgun with Riley Tufte while the world burns. Nope. He goes to VGK he’s gone for good.

I’m fine with it. You should be too.

If he wants to come back to Boston and they're offering similar deals as everyone else he'd come back. If teams are stepping up offering 4 year $20 million dollar deals they can have him.

Love the guy but this team isn't in a position to be bending over backwards for a 37 year old.

Right. We could use that $5 million and sign a 60-65 point guy

Marchand wants 4 years.

Bruins offered 2.

Marchand has said he wants to play until he is 40.
Sure- 4x1.25
Otherwise, you’re insane to give a walking hospital bill anything more than 1 year at a time at the money he wants. Max I go is 2x3. I don’t care how many he scored this year, I will be pleasantly shocked if he can get more than 35 points in 2026-2027 season.

3x5 for Brad would be good for me. Go look at what a 40 pint guy goes for. His leadership and dressing room value is off the charts. He will help this team tradition and be invaluable for the youth going forward. Ask Bergeron what Lapoint meant to him

Teams looking for a center. Jersey, Winnipeg and Toronto.
Coyle needs to be moved to one of these 3 teams.

Marchand needs to be moved to Vegas or Dallas (if Rantanen deal falls through)

I am fine with Carlo staying unless the return is a massive overpayment (similar to Brock Nelson trade).

Would really put a bow on the mistake of firing mean ole Bruce. Considering the anti Bruce crowd is long gone.

If Marchand moves, he’ll get a solid prospect and a first…. maybe more. He is a playoff performer and immediate puts a contender into a likely winner.
The lower the 1st, the better the prospect etc.

The issue with Vegas is they don’t have a 1st round pick until 2027.

Guess your implying Marchand will be a 60-65 point guy in 3-4 years time. I have a hard time seeing him staying healthy enough to reach those numbers again.
This is where I’m at as well. I think the 60-65 point guy is in the rear view mirror.

Is Connelly the target if Vegas?

Coming into this season he had played in 91% of the possible games over the last 3 years. This year he is on pace for 79 games (if he returns next game). Where is the health concern? These guys today take much better care of their bodies. They are gym rats who are playing longer and longer. It used to be guys who hit early mid-30's were at the end of their career. Now it's not uncommon for guys to be still produce into their mid/late 30's.

If you can get 60-65 points out of Marchand for 2yrs and then the last 2 years he becomes a 45-50 point player. that's fine. $5 million for a 45-50 point player in a cap world 2-3 years from now will be nothing.

Perfect world 3yrs / $5 million and that 4th year is a 1yr low AVV with bonuses

Blows my mind that I hardly see anything about Coyle being moved. There aren't many centers available and teams are looking. Sweeney treating him like he's some kind of core guy.
If there is one thing I want to see done this deadline is have Coyle shipped out. Similar to what Fredric was, he's way too passive for too many games at a time imo.

My wishes for today are move Coyle and sadly Marchand too. Prices are real high, let's take advantage and reset. We've gotta take advantage of as many prime Pasta years as we can

Agreed, he'll bring something good.

I wish if they did move him, it was for Ritchie from Avs.

So far:

OUT: T Frederick, J Brazzau, M Jones

IN: J Lauko, M Khusnutdinov, '26 6th, Maximus Wanner, '25 2nd, '26 4th

All in all a decent return.

BUT -- this team needs so so so much more than that. Like orders of magnitude more than that.

Hope Donny is going to put in an eventful and very productive 5 1/2 hours.

So far the biggest positive this week is that yet another end of game collapse has helped our own '25 1st.

Sorry I'm not committing to a player that age for 4 years, if these were contending years? Sure but they aren't. They have to start bringing in the next wave of guys at some point.
Tampa moved on from Stamkos and went with Guentzel which was the right move, this is a similar situation. Move out some higher priced aging guys and try to set yourself up to go after a legitimate top line talent.

I'm a Bruins fan first before any player and moving guys like Marchand is the right move.

Can you do that? I always thought if you retained it was for all remaining years
it is, but if we're actually committing to selling then we're gonna have enough cap space this summer where retaining on Coyle for one season won't really effect us at all.
