If he wants to come back to Boston and they're offering similar deals as everyone else he'd come back. If teams are stepping up offering 4 year $20 million dollar deals they can have him.
Love the guy but this team isn't in a position to be bending over backwards for a 37 year old.
Sure- 4x1.25Marchand wants 4 years.
Bruins offered 2.
Marchand has said he wants to play until he is 40.
Would really put a bow on the mistake of firing mean ole Bruce. Considering the anti Bruce crowd is long gone.If Marchand goes to Vegas I gotta believe he’s re-signing there. Better positioned to win now. No state income tax. Butch is the coach. Versus riding shotgun with Riley Tufte while the world burns. Nope. He goes to VGK he’s gone for good.
I’m fine with it. You should be too.
I think one remains if I remember correctlyWould really put a bow on the mistake of firing mean ole Bruce. Considering the anti Bruce crowd is long gone.
Right. We could use that $5 million and sign a 60-65 point guy
The issue with Vegas is they don’t have a 1st round pick until 2027.If Marchand goes to Vegas I gotta believe he’s re-signing there. Better positioned to win now. No state income tax. This is where I’m at as well. I think the 60-65 point guy is in the rear view mirror.Guess your implying Marchand will be a 60-65 point guy in 3-4 years time. I have a hard time seeing him staying healthy enough to reach those numbers again.
Is Connelly the target if Vegas? If Marchand moves, he’ll get a solid prospect and a first…. maybe more. He is a playoff performer and immediate puts a contender into a likely winner.
The lower the 1st, the better the prospect etc.

If there is one thing I want to see done this deadline is have Coyle shipped out. Similar to what Fredric was, he's way too passive for too many games at a time imo.Blows my mind that I hardly see anything about Coyle being moved. There aren't many centers available and teams are looking. Sweeney treating him like he's some kind of core guy.
Agreed, he'll bring something good.If Marchand moves, he’ll get a solid prospect and a first…. maybe more. He is a playoff performer and immediate puts a contender into a likely winner.

Just retain for this year, and they'll include a 3rd team to do more retention. If they can offload Coyle today without retaining I’ll be thrilled.
Can you do that? I always thought if you retained it was for all remaining yearsJust retain for this year, and they'll include a 3rd team to do more retention.
Coming into this season he had played in 91% of the possible games over the last 3 years. This year he is on pace for 79 games (if he returns next game). Where is the health concern? These guys today take much better care of their bodies. They are gym rats who are playing longer and longer. It used to be guys who hit early mid-30's were at the end of their career. Now it's not uncommon for guys to be still producing into their mid/late 30's.
If you can get 60-65 points out of Marchand for 2yrs and then the last 2 years he becomes a 45-50 point player. that's fine. $5 million for a 45-50 point player in a cap world 2-3 years from now will be nothing.
Perfect world 3yrs / $5 million and that 4th year is a 1yr low AVV with bonuses
Is Connelly the target if Vegas?
it is, but if we're actually committing to selling then we're gonna have enough cap space this summer where retaining on Coyle for one season won't really effect us at all.Can you do that? I always thought if you retained it was for all remaining years
