Bruins have played 34 games with Sacco none with Hampus and have 94-95 point pace

Are they the 22-23 Bruins ? No

But they aren’t garbage

A full lineup I hate to bum Bruins fans, err, I mean followers out - if the Islanders could win 7 in a row the Bruins can

Ideally to me they retool and trade people and get a handful of assets and give us 5 weeks of Lysell & Merkulov

If they get 2 of 3 this week & Lindholm & Kastelic back after break I think it’s more likely they go on a run and chalk it all up to Monty heart wasn’t in it and injuries

I want a retool but they have a good week don’t see the retool

They had a full roster early this season and they were actually worse. You want to blame the coach for all that fine. Not buying it. Truth is this team can play well when they are focused and give effort. The problem is they do it for a couple of games and then slink back into minimal effort games. They should not be this wildly different game to game. They just cannot maintain an edge for long before going dull again.

But i do agree, and even if they have a .500 week they will not retool. They would have to have a disastrous record for the next couple of weeks. Anything close to .500 hockey and or the other teams slip up no retool. Would I rather retool it course. But a GM is going to do what he has to to survive and tanking a playoff spot when you are close is not a good look for a GM.

Is there a way to see goal differential over a specific time period? I have only been able to see it for the full season. The reason I mention this is because people keep looking at the W-L record to argue we are better than we think, but if you watch them play, see the shot differential in the games, and see the overall -26 goal differential it tells a different story. We either win close games or get destroyed, not a recipe for success.

edit: looks like they were -21 on Nov 19th. so only -5 since then. That is actually improved so makes me feel a little better.

Ok. I’ve had a few cocktails but if Kevyn Adams calls you up and says “hey I will trade you my entire roster for your entire current NHL roster” What’s your answer?
I'm assuming that means pipeline as well?

I know Bleacher Report has it warts, but use it as a guide.

To go from dead last in prospect rankings in League, to middle of the pack. Add to that some of the young talent already on the big club in Buffalo? You'd have to at least consider that trade.

If the rumors are true, make a push for Boeser. He's still young enough to project as the team's second best goal scorer after Pasta on a long term contract. I'd be ok with the Bruins sending their 1st for a player like him.

Marchand has earned the right to choose what he wants to do - stay for another year, get traded for assets, or retire.

Trade Carlo, Coyle, Brazeau for younger/faster players/picks/cap space. Call up Lysell for the rest of the year.
Make a deal where we get Boeser and Garland and middle lineup wings will be great. Could get E Lindholm going.

Im gonna be so happy when Coyle and Carlo are gone I bet the Canucks value then they love ex Bruins.

Not trading a real hockey player, for a showboat, and a punk, and then Marchand would put him IR after one practice.

Sounds like his teammates and coaches in Anaheim are just fine with him as part of their group. Players do mature and grow up.

"The one thing that I'm really proud of him that he's done and he's put into his value system is his ability to compete, to get on pucks, he steps into people, he's going to the net front," Cronin said of Zegras.

Coyle and carlo are not the problem with this team. Bad signings is where you should start.

Nah the signings being blocked by those two hasnt helped. Zad doesn't have a slick offensive RD to play easier pairings with. Coyle is in E Lindholms spot they're the same player. Having both blocks Poitras.

Those two are lazy and don't fight or anything just mailing it in this team will be better without them.

He gets a lot of money to "mature". big pass from me.

This imo isn't just the popular choice, but also the right direction to go in, but I think your right, the Bruins win at least 2 of these next 3 games Sweeney not selling,

Sweeny would see it as a team that still has hope, one that he built and say "hey it looks ike this team is finally jelling". I see that as being nothing more than False hope. Ive been watching the Wings and Jackets the last couple of weeks and there's been no comparision in the urgency and offensive skill set between these teams. Same with Ottawa who made Minnesota look like a bantom team the other night. Tampa bay isn't going anywhere, The Nyr looked like Gabarge the other night, but their still in the hunt and all of a sudden Roy has the Islanders playing like world beaters.

7 teams fighting for 2 spots, surely the majority of the teams are comtemplating adds as well, if not just to counter everyone elses moves, when and if they happen. Playoff hockey is fun and would love to see the Bruins in it, but dam I see this current squad that by just making the playoffs would be their Stanley Cup. Their just not deep enough to make a dent if they get there. Some times you have to fall down to move forward and this version of the Boston Bruins, may have no choice but to fall down.

But you never know Ottawa may have lost Norris for a while and the blue Jackets just lost Marchenko with a Broiken Jaw, out 6-8 weeks.

he would not last in this town.

No? Because when I hear people criticize Zegras it sounds a lot like some of the criticisms Marc Savard got in the early years of his career, and he was loved here during his time in Boston.

You mean to tell me that if Zegras ended up a Bruin and put up numbers similar to what he did in 21-22 and 22-23 (20+ goals, 40ish assists) that Bruins fans would still want to run him out of town?

Savard did get criticism early in his career, but he did improve his defensive game, and I believe Savard is a much better player, and do not see Zegras being that player.

Which Anaheim's coach is saying Zegras is now displaying.

Savard was a generational passer of the puck, maybe a step above Zegras in that regard. But that doesn't mean the Bruins couldn't use a player like him who has vision and the ability to see passing lanes and options that a lot of other guys just don't see.

Maybe the Bruins should continue to ignore skill and creativity and just keep hammering down on two-way play and this mythical Bruin-type player the organization seems obsessed with. It's going real well........
