Funny we are paying 7.75 mil for a guy under .5 pts per game and Miller has been over a point a game guy in Van. Miller is under paid now. After next year Lindholm buy out is 1.5 per for 10 years. That might be what has to happen. I hope he proves me wrong in a big way. That piece of crow I would gladly eat.
We could also give up a pick for a team to take Lindholm.

Like half of Sweeney’s other free agent signings.

Necas, has another year, so you will need to wait.

A lot of talk in the local media that they should do a re-tool.

What does a re-tool look like to you?

This is a retool second from right

Why we buying out Lindholm ?

I’m so grateful I am patient

For me that makes maybe missing the playoffs for a couple of years — and that any trades you make are designed to maximize good picks, prospects, and centers.

I don’t need, or want, the Bruins to crap out. But I’ll still support them if they do.

However I do need, and want, the Bruins to now look toward the near future as opposed to the immediate future - i.e. couple of playoff games.

We went for it hard the last few years and good for us. Few disagreed and results weren’t what we hoped, but it was fun.

I don’t doubt the effort, passion, or want of everyone involved. But our prospect pool is begging begging begging for some help. It has to happen sometime.
So, you want to waste two years of prime, Pasta and McAvoy. Not mention you would be in the 4th year of a heavy Lindholm, contract in what will be even heavier by then.

Good Read. Things getting interesting in Vancouver

Those trades may include Miller, Pettersson and even Norris Trophy-winning defenseman Quinn Hughes if a rebuild is required.

“If we were going to completely start over that means he goes,” Rutherford told The Globe and Mail on Tuesday of Hughes, who is in his second season as Canucks captain. “And we’d like to figure out a way that he’s here

I felt like for a long time that there was a solution here because everybody has worked on it, including the parties involved,” said Rutherford, who is in his fourth season as Vancouver’s president of hockey operations. “But it only gets resolved for a short period of time and then it festers again, and so it certainly appears like there’s not a good solution that would keep this group together.”

Rutherford said he’d rather not have to trade either player but that it appears whatever issues are between Pettersson and Miller can't be easily resolved.

The entire front office should be fired before ownership lets them trade away Quinn Hughes. Phenomenal hockey player, maybe the best D-man on planet earth. Him or Makar pick your poison.

To say the s**t hit the fan today would be an understatement.

It is a 24/7 news gong-show here. All radio all day is non-stop Miller Pettersson. Nothing else. Most think this is to prepare the fans for the poor return they are about to get.

I can only dream. Possibly my favorite non-Bruin player in the league.
Getting to watch Quinn live multiple times a year and in the playoffs is amazing. McDavid coming to town is the only thing that trumps it. That playoff round was so entertaining and I lost my voice singing 'JT Miller-clap-clap, clap-clap-clap, JT Miller'.

I don't know how the team on the opposite side of the continent who you only play twice a year has TWO 1st line C available and Boston hasn't already gotten one of them. Either one of them will have so much to prove to the NHL after all of this nonsense that the team acquiring them should be salivating at the idea of a 1st line C becoming available at this low cost.

I think the only thing that I may enjoy more than Miller and Marchand out there together would be Pettersson and Pastrnak out there. Pick your player and build the next 4 years out around them, that D and Swayman in net.

Too bad the Bruins don’t have anything of interest outside of Pasta. McAvoy maybe, but no way he waives

If it looks like Rantanen wont sign before TDL with Whalers, Boston should talk Swayman/McAvoy swap. Both players would be right on spot for Whalers.

Boston gets Rantanen and Whalers retain 50%.
Hartford gets Swayman/McAvoy and 2026 second pick.

Isn’t the issue that the Bruins are so talented-starved that so many other teams could make better offers?

Or additionally, the asssets it would cost just to bring in one guy would be more than a team that is multiple players away should reasonably give?

I get your point for sure, but the Bruins are not a team that should be going all in on any one player. They’re a middle of the league team at best. They need a more significant overhaul IMO.
