I think we need to include some more cap for that Miller deal but anything that moves out Brandon and brings back a center is a home run trade. Plenty of 2/3 D out there better than him.

Any one who listens to XM radio of hockey talk shows in Canada the overwhelming thought on Miller is he is a massive pick up. Guy had 100 points last year and only has 3 more years after this one. For me it’s Miller time now! Our PP will be better,we will score more and the Morale of this team will take a huge leap seeing management improving and believing in this team.

He has 5 more years left after this one. Under contract until he's 37. As improving morale, that's a coinflip. He may come here and fit right in, or he might show up, try to throw his weight around and guys might turn on him. What if he showed up here and whatever treatment he's given Petterson, he starts that sort of crap with Pastrnak? Sounds like Miller needs to know his role, shut his yap and just play hockey. Wonder what Zadorov and Elias think of him?

On-ice he's an elite shooter and can help this team. He basically scores two ways, cleaning up trash in tight, and beating goalies from 20+ feet out with strong shooting. Bruins need more forwards who can shoot and score from range like Miller can.

Brandon Carlo is a No. 4 D and always has been. Complimentary, limited 2nd pair right-shot defender.

Carlo, Lysell, Bussi, 1st ----- > JT Miller

when healthy

Geek - Zacha - Pasta
Marchand - JT Miller - Coyle
Frederic - Lindholm - Braz

lohrei - cmac
Lindholm - savard
zadorov - peek

ex - pawtwah

Bussi? A 26 year old UFA to be who has been mediocre at the AHL level? He has no value

Such a good point. The first thing Boston, or any team, would do would be to ask players who know him their opinion, which has already happened. What they said who knows, but it matters.

Those guys might be tickled pink he's coming to Boston, or they might be thinking "ah crap, not this guy again."

I don't think JT Miller is a bad guy, but strikes me as someone who is so intense and amped-up on the ice, he has a hard time shutting it off once the game (or practice) is over. Some of his post-game stuff, you get that abrasiveness in front of the media, some blunt and sometimes too honest in his opinions on his own team. That can wear on the people around you over time. If they can convince him to just come here and play hockey, focus on his game, don't worry about the other stuff, he could be a huge add.

Zacha, Lindholm and Poitras are your three centers for the foreseeable future barring a trade. I don’t think you make a trade for a center and have those three still in the org. Which essentially means Zacha or Poitras are in the deal.

Edit: or Zacha is moved to wing.

I'd tend to agree. I don't think Pawtwasss is moved either. Geekie, zacha, and pasta have looked good. I don't mess with that line. Marchand needs help. Miller and Marchand could be great together or just be abysmal... who knows. Coyle and Lindholm are interchangeable on 2RW/3C.

Next year for me coyle is gone though. 5M is too much for a 3C when you can fill that role with one of the kids.

Not many I'd want to call my #2. A few I'd call my #3. Many I'd roll with at 2RD instead of carlo. Especially if Carlo nets you a scorer and his replacement includes retainment. IE David Savard from MTL or Jan Rutta.

I read Boeser is rumored to be available. Bruins should be all over that, not Miller. That's your top secondary goal scorer after Pasta on the team and can be for years - he's 28 next month and about to be a UFA this offseason.

Sorry about contract I saw on puckpedia and thought something was off. They only give three years than the end date. Thanks for the catch.

Very limited and really a #5. This year he’s a 5 for sure

Morale in the sense that players are happy they are bringing in a needed big talent.

Puck Pedia is weird you go into his player page and it has this pink-ish highlight around the 2026-27 season, easy mistake to make upon first glance thinking the highlight is around the current season.

Both D replacements you want are 34 and UFA at the end of the year. I guess if the goal is go for it now, that makes some sense, but it leaves you a gaping hole to fill in the offseason

Funny we are paying 7.75 mil for a guy under .5 pts per game and Miller has been over a point a game guy in Van. Miller is under paid now. After next year Lindholm buy out is 1.5 per for 10 years. That might be what has to happen. I hope he proves me wrong in a big way. That piece of crow I would gladly eat.

Yes that was the goal. Move a piece worth a good amount (carlo) and reinvest his $$ into scoring. Next year hopefully you sign a UFA or a kid takes the spot.

Person of interest but until I hear Necas extended by Colorado he’s my guy
