It also means maybe you guys have no idea of what you are talking about. Saying it shouldn't matter is laughable, actually there is no word to describe how dumb this thinking is.
Yeah God forbid a 9.5 million dollar "franchise" (snicker) defensemen should elevate his partners game. It's shouldn't matter if it's Lohrei, Zadorov or Lindholm. He should be able to adjust his game, considering he is "elite".

Carolina has no need for Carlo, either.

Their D is solid, 3 LD and 3 RD.

At the time they were letting Pesce walk and their fan base was on board. Obviously, since then they added Ghost, Walker and re-signed Chatfield.

Who else would we need to add to Carlo? Not getting that player for the likes of Carlo, you can also say goodby to our first rounder.

I mean now it's completely unrealistic.

Friedman is known for suggesting intangible soft crap like this as reasons for certain situations around the NHL. Does it all the time on HNIC, talking out of his rear end.

The fact that Boston is struggling to score or generate anything offensively has nothing to do with Swayman's supposedly lingering hurt feelings.

Friedman is a legit hockey insider.

Extremely well thought of.

Swayman needs to put in his big boy pants and get the f*** over this. Between the arbitration stuff, and now the contract negotiation....which he ended up being paid very well, it's time to shut the f*** up about it, move on, and play to the potential we've seen.

I can't imagine people in the locker room want to listen to the world is me bullshit any longer, especially guys like Marchy who've been around it plenty of times.

If it's true about Swayman and "lingering problems with how negotiations went" -- I agree entirely.

You now have generational wealth.

Focus on what you need to do to avoid becoming the next Jim Carrey.

I have no idea if Swayman has hard feelings about the contract impasse of this past off-season but what i do know is he is not playing to his capabilities right now. Missing camp might have something to do with it. Getting his payday might be a part of it too. He's just not locked in and he's not playing like one of the top players on a team where there's so much hot/cold in everyone's play this year.

Well, that is his job.

It is. But no reason for fans to put much stock in his speculating and "I think". He's trying to find a reason why the Bruins have struggled this year, because he doesn't watch all of their games (nor would I expect him too) nor is focused on their stats or metrics. He's got 32 teams to cover.

In this case I think his speculation is bull-shit. This is simply a bad team that lacks talent and that is playing poorly and may have tuned out their coach.

One of my fears coming into this season, although generally i was happy with their additions, was that they "overcorrected" their size issues and we'd be stuck with a one dimensional, big and slow team. IMO that is exactly what we are seeing right now and the issued are multiplied because what was supposed to be a strength in our D corps is now seemingly a problem.

And yet they were a 109-point team last season with the same core of top players.

There has to be a better explanation than they are simply a bad team that lacks talent.

Am I wrong though? It's not the goaltenders fault the Bruins are averaging under 2.00 goals per game the past month?
I think you're wrong. Swayman has been bad. He's 65th in the NHL in goals saved above expected. That stat takes out the gross back door goals that are the D's fault and just looks at shots where 99% of the goalies in the league consistently make that save. He's 65th. That means he's not only been the worst starter in the league but every team also has a backup (including Boston) that's been better. Korpisalo is 28th on that list behind the same defense.

Swayman should be giving us starts like Saros when we played against Nashville. That was a stand on your head, top5 goalie, thou shall not pass type performance. Instead the highlight of the year is him hugging Ullmark before a game and watching Ullmark make the save of the game in OT off a 1timer while he lets in a wrist shot low blocker from the circle.

Everyone has played a role in this debacle. The managers, the coaches, the forwards, the defense and the goaltending.

I guess I read this differently. Swayman had lingering hard feelings after arbitration - Facts. In this case, he got the money he wanted before the season started - he's all good and set for a long time.

I read it as mngt (as in Charley, Cam, and Donny not being on same page) has lingering hard feelings for a number of reasons, as this season got off on the wrong foot from the start.
