With 4 mins left. When this team hasn’t scored one 5v6 goal?I’d get it closer to 2 mins.
It's definitely all preference and how much you're down. Down 2 or 3 I'm okay pulling the goalie 4 minutes left regardless of how putrid they have been 6 on 5. Down 1, then yeah I agree wait until the final minute or two

Would anyone consider doing a Josh Anderson for Charlie Coyle trade? 5 pts in 12 games this season, just beat the brakes off Tom Wilson, gives us some much needed size and toughness in the top 6. I know he's been regressing in Montreal but dude might need a change of scenery and Poitras could use a big winger for protection.

My only concern about JA is that he is injury prone.
Always liked him as a player and he does not put up with any crap on the ice.

I have always liked Anderson, but like you point out he is injury prone, but for the right deal, I would take a shot with him, but not at the cost of Coyle. Can everyone please stop with this Poitras 1st/ 2nd line crap, he is neither, to inconsistent at this point in his career.

Our management team is way to buddy buddy with the core guys to trade them away to rebuild
the owner has already said a rebuild is not an option, They would rather be an almost team than a future champion it seems, and I would guarantee Sweeney would be more aggressive with dealing bigger names if 41 sellouts werent the business model of the Jacobs

What level of forward gets you thinking about including Lorhei? What about Poitras?

I keep thinking about how almost the whole team is in their late 20s and how waiting around for these guys to hit their stride very well may be too late…and it’s a hard sell to think those two guys could be core players on a contender.

No. They were down 3 goals. Teams usually pull at 1.5-2 min when theyre only down 1. I get they suck with the extra attacker, but you should have a better chance of scoring with an extra player on the ice. If they score an empty netter, who cares. Youre already down 3

Lohrei and Poitras are both on the table. One is a defensive zone nightmare who refuses to take hits, and the other has average speed, and consistently over-handles the puck. Poitras is in fact one of the most overrated prospects I have seen here. he is not Senyshyn, but I do not like him one bit.
Poitras is Ryan Spooner to me.

It's what every team does now. Look at the games across the league. The analytics departments of all the teams say this is the way to do it.

I haven't seen a team pull the goalie with 6 minutes left yet this season.

What I usually see is a goalie pulled around 3 minutes or under.

Of course, I don't see every game in the league.

I would like to see them bring in Luke Kunin before moving Frederic. Frederic's inconsistent physical play is annoying but I don't not want to go back to only having 1 physical forward again, this time in Kastelic. Frederic played well over the weekend, try putting him with Poitras and a newly acquired Kunin as a third line.

Move Coyle or Carlo for a top six center or wing, it should stop some of the seemingly entitled attitude the core has. I would move both for a legit scorer with a mean streak.

Also move Lysell and Merkulov when you might be able to recoup some draft picks for them. Lysell is playing his way back to Europe every game in Providence and Merkulov seems to have checked out already.

Obviously hindsight, but honestly such a shame we weren't in on Dylan Strome, looking like a top 6c at 27 years old, and for the same price as Coyle...

I was on that bandwagon.
Strome: 154 points in 225 games in Chicago = .68 pts per game

Zegras: 157 points in 223 games = .70 pts per game

Strome was criticized just as bad for his two-way play, lack of physicality (still evident) but he's putting up points and looking good offensively

The Bruins need someone desperately in the top six with elite puck skills, playmaking (especially for the PP) and speed. A big bonus if they can play center.

Waiting for people to come around

Nobody is giving you a pick for Merkulov. He's an AHL player who plays better at C than W, and can't play Center at the NHL level
