Hey, Patty Brown looked like one of the better forwards in preseason. When everyone else looked like they were still feeling the effects from the buffet at Pasta's wedding, Brown was one of the few that looked engaged and wanting to prove himself. Bruins could use an injection of energy, or at least a continuation of it from the last game. They've struggled to put together back to back high work rate games.

Rust is locked up at age 32 till the 2027 season at over 5 mil per.Not the type deal Sweeney should be looking for at this stage in my opinion..Just my 2 cents
He has 3 years left after this season on his contract / no big deal IMO.
Has shown no signs of slowing down and had his best offensive season per 82 games played last year.
His 121 goals scored in the last 5 years and playing only 314 games would put him right behind Pasta and Marchy.
We could use his leadership ( 2 Stanley cups) and scoring ability now.

I do not want to tie into any more players wrong side of 30 myself, but if they do I will still be hoping they play well here.

McLaughlin or Farinacci would have been my choice. Why not reward some of the players who we aren't sure they will be a JAG yet.

Disagree. We can't even give our top prospects a chance when the middle of the roster is embarrassing themselves. Any forwards we draft will just get banished to the minors forever in favor of defensive plugs.

Rotate proven guys in their prime and don't hold too long when a guy like Coyle gets too comfortable. Even Freddy was effected by the complacency during his UFA season the culture is that rotten.

Carlo is so terrible id take any of the Providence D over him. Sell while you can.
Thats a double wow from me GORD.

They can't score in the AHL, why call up lazy players and reward them for playing poorly?
The Bruins, so called prospects, in my opinion all should be available in any trades if needed to put that trade in motion, the only one I, might be a little slower on pulling the trigger might be Loheri, and the way I feel now not even he should get a free ride. You add help to this team, let's do it.

Jimmy Murphy said Sweeney trying to add top 6 help :sarcasm:

I’m guessing Beecher may be injured? Maybe he was just benched? Pasta was skating on the fourth line for some shifts and I don’t recall seeing Beecher at all in the third.
He’s been getting benched. Played 6minutes against Calgary, 8 against the Blues. Monty getting rid of all the kids, Lohrei is next.

Montgomery's feeling the pressure, no doubt.
Sweeney has final say.
The thought is veteran players make less mistakes.
With the injuries and Poitras being sent down I think they had room to add one to the roster.
Brown is a safe move.
Doesn't move the needle at all,
But a safe move.

The thought that Pat Brown makes fewer mistakes is pretty funny.

Two years ago they were the 3rd oldest team in the league, today they're 15th and that's including Brown, Johnson and Oesterle
And three weeks ago they were half that, and they have not added older players that really will

Monty preaches fore checking, two of the best fore checkers on this team last year were Beecher and Lauko, one is in Minnesota, and the other is on the bench brilliant.

My theory, not proven is that AAAA players are the ones that look the best in preseason games. They are veterans and know how to play AND have something to play for. Established NHL payers know how to play but don't care about trying and young players care but don't have enough experience yet.

I have no doubt he can play 4th line minutes and not embarrass himself. But that's about all I'd say about him.

You’re arguing with a guy who said Carlo is so terrible he’d take anyone in Providence over him and that the Bruins culture is “rotten”.
Carlo and Coyle have been terrible. Both are paid highly and we are now awful on the PK they've regressed so badly. Way too comfortable and simply need to be on a new team.

If you want to defend them for their careers fine but their play this year is below AHL level they've sucked that much.

Well looks like you may get your wish. I’m sure Ian Mitchell or Billy Sweezey will slide right into that PK1 role seamlessly.
